Rub your hands together or touch all the textures around you in the dream. Spinning around, but that might change the scenery for you. Just a few things I've tried that have kept me lucid longer. Good luck. =) |

Hello, I'm new to this site and I've joined because of a strange occurrence I had last night, and I believe it was the beginning of a lucid dream. I was dreaming of trying to get to my French class in school while trying to carry several heavy backpacks, I won't bore you with the details and I'll get straight to the point. I was at a point in my dream where I was in a never ending hallway and I dropped the bags and got worried that I would be late, so I went back to get them, but then I thought "Hey, this is a dream. Screw this!" and suddenly everything felt so real and I started moving forward and jumped, that is when I started levitating a bit, and I guess the excitement woke me up then (and yes it was a real awakening, I preformed a reality check). I want to know some tips on how to keep myself lucid for longer periods of times, any help? |

Ah, I'll try that next time, thanks. |

Hi! Rub your hands while looking at them is a great technique. Touching anything will do really. You might have a hard time in the begining to make the dream last, but they will get longer and longer the more you have, so don't worry |

I'd say it was almost easier, but I think that's once you get the hang of it. Once you become lucid, try rubbing your hands while looking at them like Matte87 said, I forgot looking at them while you're doing it will help. Should help stabilize the dream which will make it a little easier to control. Spin to change the scenery but be careful not to wake up, I've tried spinning before I was still dreaming but I was in a black abyss. Anyway, depending on what you're trying to do in the dream and how stabile it is it can be pretty easy to control, but some people do have troubles with getting things to go their way. For example, tried to have sex with my partner while in a dream and he turned into a huge dog.... awkward... lol |

Rubbing my hands did work, for about a short while, but it worked. It lasted about two minutes, but it was quite fun, so I'll keep trying on it. |
