      Question about entering SP

I went to bed last night at about 4:30 am and woke up at 11:00 am. So I got around 6 hours of sleep.

I smoked some ganja around 3:00 pm and as I was becoming sober around 4:30 I felt burnt out and a little tired. I decided I would attempt a WILD (my first try) and laid down for a nap at 6:00 pm.

I started out laying down on the floor for about 5-10 minutes and then crawled into bed.
I tried to move as little as possible and started to wait, doing some visualization techniques. I rolled over into different positions about 4 times without any luck of coming close to falling asleep.

I decided that waiting for SP to occur was probably only hurting, and not helping my effort (keeping my mind too awake). At this point I decided I would just try and fall asleep as I normally do every night, but try and become aware of when I would be drifting in and out of consciousness. I started to become frustrated and decided I probably wasn't going to get into SP since I had been trying to for a 1 and a half hours.

So yea, Why was I having a tough time getting into SP? A couple times throughout this i had some weird sensations but they only lasted a few seconds and I cant really describe them.

Well, the reason you couldn't get into SP, is because you weren't able to fall asleep. SP starts when you first begin to fall asleep. You either weren't tired enough or were doing something to keep yourself awake. WILDing takes some practice to really get a good feel for the whole process. Don't give up, just keep trying and try to learn something from each failure.

Yeah, like KingYoshi says, you're not just waiting for the SP to happen, you want to fall asleep. We all go through SP each and everytime we fall asleep, only we're unconscious before it happens.

Just keep on trying, and experiment with different times aswell. Do it during a WBTB next time. Good luck!
