A little background about me and lucid dreaming: I first became interested in dreams after watching A Nightmare On Elm Street in sixth grade. Certainly not a conventional inspiration, but after doing some reading on the internet I found out about lucid dreaming and immediately began keeping a dream journal and attempting to become lucid. After a few months (maybe even less, I don't really remember) with no success I gave up. A year or two later I watched Waking Life and was inspired to start trying again. I started a new dream journal, read everything I could about LDing, tried different methods, etc. Still no success, so after about a year I gave up completely. Now, several years later (I'm 17), I had basically forgotten about LDing until two weeks ago when I had my first ever lucid dream. FINALLY.

Basically, I walking around my hometown when I started wondering how the hell I got back to Wisconsin when I didn't remember taking a plane or anything. I grew more suspicious after asking someone the date and being informed it was January 2010. I remembered it was late March 2011 because it was a few days before my birthday, and then became lucid. After that I don't remember much, but I know I tried to control my dream and failed (I think I tried to transform something into something else - like I said, my memory's fuzzy). Nothing too phenomenal, but it gave me the inspiration I need to restart my attempts at learning to consistently have lucid dreams.

Anyways, that's my story. I always liked this site, figured it couldn't hurt to join up, right?
