Hello there, and a question about music.

      Hi,
I'm virox, I discovered this website a few days ago through an image, explaining how to attain lucidity, and it linked to this website for more information.

I explored the site for a while and got really exited, because I heard about controlling dreams before, but as a child, you always think that's just stuff movies are made from.
But I want to try it too. I usually don't have the motivation to do mind experiences, I dropped Photoreading before, but I think with this, I can work. The worst part might be that my Dream Recall at the moment is about zero, I can't remember a single dream from the past few weeks. But I'm working on it.

The reason why I am so excited is because of a dream I had a while back. I have no idea if it was a lucid dream, I don't remember realizing I'm dreaming, but I was able to fly.
I know most of you Lucid Dreamers do this at a daily routine, because it's most likely the first thing everyone wants to try. In my dream, I don't remember what it was about, I was able to fly and the feeling was the greatest sensation I ever felt in a dream. Not only the flying, but also the starting off.
I just stood there, concentrating on taking off the ground with my arms at my side.
When I started levitating, I felt great. Then I leaned forward and started flying, this is how it worked every time I had to take off in that dream. It was wonderful, and I want to do it again.
There is my motivation, also remembering dreams seems like a nice idea for someone who can't really remember them at all. Might be exciting.

      tl;dr: Hi everyone!

      -

And now my first question. I often have trouble falling asleep.
To lower my stress, I want to listen to a looped piece of music I really love (add /watch?v=ymXOg_x96g8 to the YouTube URL) , but I don't know if that might affect my dreams, because it might draw me back into my waking body when I hear it in my dream and wonder where it comes from. On the other hand, it might even help me gain lucidity, if I notice that this can't really be right now.
Has anyone tried that, and did it work in some way?
Also, I'll be starting Dream Recall tonight by setting my alarm to a REM phase, won't the music that will still be playing by then distract me from remembering?

Thank you for reading my first big post, I will try to reduce it to the main points from now on.

I will fix the YouTube link once I am allowed to post links

One thing you will want to make sure of is that your radio is not going to wake you up when it plays that song. I might help you become lucid but don't be disappointed if it does not. Music doesn't help me very much so I have to use the techniques (DILD, WILD, etc). If you read around the forums you will find ways to induce a lucid dream. Don't get yourself down if you can't get lucid after a lot of tries, it is tough for a beginner unless you have a knack for it.

As for helping you fall asleep, I love meditation. It relaxes you and has tons of benefits too. That music you mentioned in your post would help you meditate, it's very relaxing.

P.S. love the song you chose to use
*EDIT* here's the link to that song virox was trying to post: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymXOg_x96g8
