My first LD last night since childhood

When i was a child i remember a peroid of time that lasted a couple months where i kept getting a reoccurring dream. cant remember what made me go lucid in the dream but i do actually remember when i was in the dream remember having the dream before and i questioned myself. i belive thats what made me go lucid. But being a kid i didnt know what it was. I tried to explain to my family how "awesome" it was but they brushed it off as another dream.

20 years later. I was watching Conan a few weeks ago and a guy from inception started talking about lucid dreaming and it triggered that childhood memory for me. Now i knew what it was and im hooked.

I studied it. Practiced ADA, RCs every hour, and kept a DJ
eventhough i couldnt even remember maybe 2 dreams a week.

Last night i had success...and heres the dream if anyone wants to read.

Me and my girlfriend were riding on a motor cycle very fast as we were running from a police car. We were on an old country highway where it had a dropoff on each side of the road so there were railings all the way down it. The roads were still pretty busy.
I was driving and it felt like and action movie. I looked back at my girl friend and the mood change instantly. from and action movie feeling to a calm relaxing feeling just by look at here. I knew this was weird maybe because i practice ADA. I asked her if she thought we were dreaming, not expecting to get a 'Yes' answer. but she said Yes. It shocked me for a second then i immediately became excited and knew i was dreaming. The world starting shaking and breaking apart. i could feel the dream drifting away. I felt like i was goin at such fast pace that i couldnt think of something to do to keep my dream going... Luckily i saw a ramp ahead. I smiled and told my girlfriend to hang on. Racing through the falling apart world dropping below us we hit the ramp. We were air born!...well, for a second. The feeling of fear and butterflys entered my stomach as we started on the downward fall. i saw us both smiling right as i woke up in my bed, sweaty, with butterflys still in my stomach, and with a smile still on my face.

That sounds amazing, was it not? Congratulations on getting your first adult Lucid Dream! From here on it gets even easier, now that you know you're able to have them (I mean personally 100% sure, everyone can get lucid but it's easier when you've actually done it yourself) and just keep on doing RC's and you'll have another one in no time.

I would suggest you try setting up a dream goal. I find it gets alot easier to get Lucid when I have a goal to strive for. When I combine it with MILD and WBTB I usually get Lucid. Try them out if you feel like it

If you have any questions at all, don't hesitate to ask man. Good luck!

Thanks, and setting up dream goals seems like a good idea, i see alot of people on here that have done that. maybe it will give me something to do when i can think of what to do to keep the dream going.

I kinda figured it was only a matter of weeks before it happened. the reason why is kinda simple

when i was in school i remember having a foreign exchange student in our classsm and our teacher asked him if he was dreaming in english yet.
The student said yes. I asked the teacher what it meant and he said. "When people that come from areas that speak another language. it takes 2 to 3 weeks for their dream to adjust to that language, then all of the sudden one day they will be dreaming in the new language they have been surrounded by."

Not sure what studies my teacher learned this from but it seems true it most forms of dream for me...takes a couple weeks for dream to catch up to your reality

Why not have your first goal be something like; "Stay in the dream for one minute, and stabilize as soon as I reach lucidity". To stay in the dream you have to relax. Most people have trouble doing so and I was extremely excited when I had my first few when trying. It will pass and you'll have longer and longer ones in time.

Also, to make the dream stable, engage your senses in the dream. Rub your hands while counting your fingers. Try to see details and feel the texture of your hands. Smell them, taste them and listen to everything around you. Usually activating your sense of touch and sight is enough to make the dream stable and last a while, but if you intend to keep the dream going for a long time, then activate all five.

Forget about your body in bed, never, EVER think about it and try to get as lost in the dream as possible without losing your lucidity. Do regular Reality Checks like rubbing your hands to make sure it stays stable and you know what you're doing

yea the excitement got the best of me that time for sure lol

through out the day i realised this dream was a deja vu type of thing. it was a dream ive had before a couple times but never remembered untill now
i dont think rubbing my hands going that fast on the motor cycle would work cause id prolly crash lol... maybe next time ill just pull over and see that the cop says...
