      What I've understood:

Sci-Fi = Sciense fiction. A genre of movies/books/etc. where you usually have technical things from the future and stuff like that. Like Star Wars or The Matrix.

LD = Lucid dream. A state of conscious where you're having a dream while being aware of it.
Don't think about those damn kangaroos.

As far as I know, the only person here that has Sci-fi's is nesgirl119. Her experiences to me sound a lot like an OBE or maybe an LD in which you think you are having an OBE.

Anyway, lucid dreaming could explain either one. I suspect you will have a much easier time learning to lucid dream often than learning how to sci-fi. I believe her method involves inducing sleep paralysis and then fighting it.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance

Well, let me put in a way that you can understand:
Basically they are both LDs, but in Sci-fis, you can actually view real time, real places, & remote viewing! There are still Dreaming symbols in here(as far as I can understand, but I still have that weakness of being able to tell in real life that I am awake, too).....& this really should be moved into the beyond dreaming area, shouldn't it?

Except for some reason she's afraid of calling it that, so she made up a new name for it.

Yea its pretty confusing so whenever you see the term "Sci-Fi" just assume that its an Out of Body Experience or Astral Projection. And to prevent further confusion you can use the 2 terms I mentioned in lieu of "Sci-Fi".

Okay, but I really don't think that is it......but it is only my opinion, & Gothlarks, b/c he said that they were only LDs too, & I am just agreeing w/him. Besides, the last one did involve a journey through outer space, so I am just saying......

if you can view real places in real time and perform remote viewing than it is not a dream. and i think that is all i will say on the subject because i can tell that this will go nowhere.

      hey,

i just want to be clear that 'sci-fi' is a personal term nesgirl119 uses, and is not sanctioned by the board. i just don't want any confusion in regards to its meaning; i think it's best to learn the official terms, to aid in understanding.

      thanks.

I totally agree w/you there! I just look at the world differently, but I do know what makes a Sci-fi!

Just as there are different genres of music, you could say there are different genres of dreaming. The two most common being dreaming and lucid dreaming, and lucid dreaming have sub categories, like OOBE, or sci fi. Just like how metal music has several sub genres, like nu metal, or power metal, death metal, etc.

      Just a thought =P

What?! I have RVed in them b4. Seriously, I even did a couple of tests, like the open packet & a card inside of a box! They work!
& I would appreciate you not picking on me!

I recall you saying that such phenomena (psi) was b/s and that you didn't believe in such abilities. Remember when you were playing the \"false\" skeptic in another thread?

& I would appreciate you not picking on me! [/b]
Call it what you will...I've already extended a hand of help (as have a lot of people on this site) already and you have failed to accept those offers.

I have no problem with you "believing" what you believe in...I'm only concerned with you confusing the newbies with your terminology and false skepticism. Post of that nature should be limited to the "Beyond Dreaming" thread...or in your case the "Beyond Help" thread. [/picking]

No! I am a real skeptic(mostly in stuff that is total bullcrap!)! The thing is they do differ from other Dreams, so that is why I call them Sci-fis! Let's just please try to get along so we don't suffer Seeker's wrath!

i'm sorry nesgirl, but as i've said to you already, a lot of this stuff should be within the realm of Beyond Dreaming. also, using the terms you throw around is confusing to newbies, since they are not valid. thus, please discontinue their use on the forum.

Can I PM you about it?
Also, I did not start this topic here. If it were me, I would have put it into the beyond dreaming area, like I told you I would........it was a newbie that did that.
I don't try to intentionally make you mad...sorry..

Hmm. I'd just like to offer some support for nesgirl.

Nesgirl, I can understand why you have a unique term for something that you've done naturally for most of your early life. But, you can't expect people to identify with terms that have usage unique to yourself. I don't expect people here to know what names i had for things in my early childhood. Instead, i adopt terms that everyone uses, so i can communicate better. If i went to china, i'd learn chinese. When i first read your comments on Sci-Fi's i was confused.

On behalf of others and myself, i would like to say we aren't trying to pick on you, we are merely trying to communicate better!
