      First LD! =)

Ive been trying to attain lucidity for a good year now (actively), but always came up short. I would miss dream signs and just ignore bizarre things in my dreams, no matter how many reality checks I would do through out the day.

Last night I went over a guide for beginners and one tip stuck in my mind - try doing some math in my head while going to bed. they explained that by doing so, the logical part of my brain would stay more active than usual as I fell asleep. It made sense to me so I went ahead and went over some trig HW I had done earlier that day.

I awoke in the middle of the night from a dream, nothing special (I was so tired i didnt even right it down). But then, I was suddenly in my room just sitting at my desk when I heard something outside my window. At that moment I could feel a change, almost like i could feel myself "in" my head. That's when I thought I might be dreaming, so I did a reality check by trying to push my finger through my hand...And it worked!!

I spent the rest of the dream just trying to stabilize things, rubbing my hands, touching the walls, I was so concentrated on not losing lucidity that I couldn't do what I wanted to do. the whole thing lasted a few minutes but i made sure to remember the feeling, that presence in my head, so i may be able to recognize it again next time I'm dreaming.

Sorry for the long post but I was just so exited

My question for you guys though : Once you have a lucid dream, does it become easier in later dreams? For example, I remember this feeling i had in my dream, will I be able to notice it more easily in the future?

Congratulations on your first Lucid! That first one will be remembered forever, no matter how dull or short it was. The trick with stabilization techniques is not to do them because you're afraid the dream will fall apart if you don't. You should do them casually to activate your senses. Sure the reason you're doing them is to stay in the dream, but if you think about being in a dream you will start to lose it. You have to "trick" the brain or just try to forget yourself in the dream as much as possible.

For your questions: Yes. Now you know you can have one. Belief is very strong when it comes to Lucid Dreaming and why you got Lucid because of the maths thing was probably because you thought it worked. Have you ever tried WILD?

Just intend to get Lucid once again and you'll be fine If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask!

I'm surprised you are still trying after a year of nothing. If it were me, I would have given up after 2 months, so I only have a few weeks left to get one then!
I have actually had a lucid before, when I was 6 or 7, not really sure. But I can remember it and how it felt like it was last nights dream. They, or at least the first one, never leaves you.

You finally had a lucid, proving with a quite interesting method, that you can lucid. This should spur you on to more lucids. Just dont get knocked back if there is no flood of lucids now, but I doubt you will, after proving how tenacious you are with trying.

I hope to have one soon, and I think your method you tried with the maths could work.
