Ive been trying to attain lucidity for a good year now (actively), but always came up short. I would miss dream signs and just ignore bizarre things in my dreams, no matter how many reality checks I would do through out the day.
Last night I went over a guide for beginners and one tip stuck in my mind - try doing some math in my head while going to bed. they explained that by doing so, the logical part of my brain would stay more active than usual as I fell asleep. It made sense to me so I went ahead and went over some trig HW I had done earlier that day.
I awoke in the middle of the night from a dream, nothing special (I was so tired i didnt even right it down). But then, I was suddenly in my room just sitting at my desk when I heard something outside my window. At that moment I could feel a change, almost like i could feel myself "in" my head. That's when I thought I might be dreaming, so I did a reality check by trying to push my finger through my hand...And it worked!!
I spent the rest of the dream just trying to stabilize things, rubbing my hands, touching the walls, I was so concentrated on not losing lucidity that I couldn't do what I wanted to do. the whole thing lasted a few minutes but i made sure to remember the feeling, that presence in my head, so i may be able to recognize it again next time I'm dreaming.
Sorry for the long post but I was just so exited
My question for you guys though : Once you have a lucid dream, does it become easier in later dreams? For example, I remember this feeling i had in my dream, will I be able to notice it more easily in the future?
