      Dream guide changes form?

in my dreams my dream guide protects me from all dangers, but suddenly in this dream she was not present but someone else helped me. might it have been that the dream guide changed form?

I don't know that much about dream guides, but I would guess that this is entirely possible. If your dream guide can appear in any form, then I'd imagine they can shift form too.

I never heard of dream guides shifting shapes. Most people say dream guides are hard to meet, almost have a mind of their own, are above your control, and are a symbol for your subconscious. I suppose it is plausible for them to change shape and form... I guess its up to them really. Why not? No reason, I guess we have to assume it's possible.

I've always thought that my dream guide is simply a manifestation of my subconscious. It's entirely possible that they can change forms to express ideas and notions on the dreamer; maybe to make teaching me a lesson easier to convey or something to that effect.

My Dream Guide (or at least the DC claiming to be my Dream Guide) changes her appearance regularly.
She's always female though, and I can always identify her immediately, even if she looks completely different.
      Dreams are simple.
It's the painfully simple things the human mind cannot comprehend.
After all your mind is trained to understand the complexity of the waking world,
not the simplicity of the dream world.

I think I may have heard my Dream Guide once, when I was dozing off early one morning. I was either fully asleep or just about to fall asleep, when I heard a female voice say "Origami, time to get up". I woke up there, and noticed it was my usual time to get up for school.

Definitely wasn't anyone in my house, as only my mother could sound like that, but she was downstairs, and anyway never shouts up to me to get up.
