      What more can I do?

For the past month I have persistently tried to lucid dream. At first I tried my luck with WILD, to no avail. I put all of my chips into DILD and I feel like I am extremely close (my dream recall is VERY high compared to anything before I knew of lucid dreaming). In 2 different dreams, (a vivid one at that, where I could feel all physical *touchings*) I was explaining to a girl what happens when you realize you are in a dream and the possible outcomes. Another time I told myself "I am in a dream so I can not be harmed if I do this", but never really thought much of it

My brain seems to easily go off-topic of whatever I am trying to do. I say to myself to be aware of my surroundings at all times (Yoshi's ADA tutorial), and a few seconds later I'm thinking of something else almost completely unaware of anything going around me.

I drink apple juice before bed now, and I've been meditating for half an hour before bed each night (repeating mantra). What more can I do? :/

      And I have a DJ.

You're doing all the right things, you just have to stick with it. One tip I can give you: right before going to bed, do some RCs and tell yourself that you will lucid dream, then forget everything and sleep. A lot of times people will have success seemingly "accidentally." They'll try really hard to get a LD, then when they stop putting effort into and forget about it, it clicks. So don't go to sleep willing yourself to have one.

      Good luck!

Just like Raph said, you have to be persistent and you can't give up.
Try taking a break for a few days or a week, you probably will have on in that break. Don't get frustrated, that causes stress and stress is bad bad bad for lucid dreaming. You will be able to have, you will have one very soon. You are so close! So just relax about it for a few days, then just start doing some mantras and pick back up on RCs. But still keep writing in your dream journal.
      You're so close, keep trying
      I believe in you!

      flowers shall grow
      and I am in them
      and that is eternity.

Take a break. Sometimes you can have a lucid dream without trying. I don't know of the science behind it. But it will seem like less than a chore and you will have a good chance of a lucid dream.

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride

Perform reality checks, its not enough to think you are dreaming, you have to realize it.
Also don't give up, I am lazy with lucid dreaming but gradually I ended up becoming lucid and let me tell you its worth it.
At the fork in the road I turned left while everyone else turned right..

Like Raphael said, you should try repeat something over in your head before you go to sleep - this is called a mantra. Although, don't say one that is future tense for 2 reasons. Firstly, they say that your subconscious only works in present tense and therefore the mantra would be innefective. Secondly, saying i will lucid dream does not really give a definate time of when you will go lucid so it also doesn't work. Maybe try something like "I lucid dream" but you really need to believe it

      Good luck
