      Dreaming

      Hi, Joseph again xD

      My question is:

Should I try to have my first lucid as a DILD (with some MILD) or just try doing a WILD?

Do what ever you like. WILD can be tricky sometimes. Just pick one technique and focus on it. I recommend DILD, specifically MILD.

      thanks

(btw, this forum is awesome. I get responses in less than 5 mins)

Also, to have a DILD, is it better if you are extremely tired, mildly tired, or relaxed (not sleepy, just zen)

PS: Physical tiring or mental tiring?

No problem, you wont always get super fast responses, but the dream guides and our active members eventually respond to every thread.

I have not noticed a real advantage in being tired when it comes to DILD. If you normally have trouble sleeping it can be nice though. Being relaxed is good for MILD.

There's a technique called Wake Back to Bed (WBTB), which involves waking yourself up in the middle of the night in order to then fall back asleep much more easily, thus being able to swiftly enter SP and slip right into the dream. It's mostly useful for WILDs though, but you can use the awake time as an opportunity to do some mantras before falling back asleep.

I would say DILD for starting out MILD like Zebrah said. Combined with WBTB, that seems to be a really good combination that seems to work a lot for people new to this.
