Thread: Hi all I'm new here and just had my first LD.

Hi all I'm new here.

I just had my first intentional lucid dream and didn't even really know what one was untill 3 days ago.
I had heard the term lucid dream but it was only when I stumbled across this forum that I knew what it ment.

I have had a couple before where I've said to myself "it's only a dream" usally when something really bad is happening and i get a great sense of relief but always woken up pretty much straight away.

Well I thought I'd give it ago, keept my phone next to my bed to write my dreams down, i've always remembered my dreams very well and usually have vivid dreams too.

The first night I wrote down 5 dreams, no LD.

The second night 3 dreams, had a couple more really bitty ones so didn't bother with them, again no LD.

Then last night, I was pretty sure I wouldn't have many dreams, definitely didn't think I'd have a lucid because I'd had quite a bit to drink while watching the Boxing.
Then it happend, I'm looking at some scenery from my house, (it's not an actual view I can see from my house in real life but I didn't click on I was dreaming yet) i was thinking that would make a really nice painting or picture.

Then I turn around and everything changed, my house was gone and I was standing on some vast sandy plain with nothing around for miles.
It was like a whole new dream and I thought to myself "wow I'm having a LD and that I'm gonna be really pleased about it when I wake up.
I could also remember the forum and everything I'd read, especially a post someone had written about how real everything was, that they'd picked up a stone and could see every detail.
That's exactly how this was.

Ever since reading what LD was I knew if I got one that I'd love to fly (like most people) and I had read that some people find it hard to do at first, but I thought I'd be able to do it pretty easy as I'd flown quite a bit in normal dreams.
Well I was wrong, i tried to run and jump up but could feel the gravity pulling my down like real life.

I tried again and this time i hung in the air longer like the gravity had altered but still couldn't fly.
I was a bit worried about loseing the dream (even though it seemed very stable) so I looked at my hands and started rubbing them together but it made my dream start fading, I quickly started spining thinking paradise and could see some palm trees coming in but it was too late, it all went dark and I woke up.

So not much really happend, but it was so cool.
