      New!!! :D

Hi!! I'm new here. I found out about lucid dreaming not that long ago and I've been trying to develop the skill further. I've always had a hard time keeping a journal in order. I'm also deathly shy. I look forward to learning how to do it better.

      Hey welcome to DV, Aria!

Dream journals don't need to be super organized, as long as you stay consistent with it that's the important thing. If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask. The wiki section is a good place to start building your knowledge foundation with the bricks and mortar of basic principles of learning fundamentals such as varying techniques and other methods by which you can learn about lucid dreaming in a way which would prove to be prudent to your cause of...

      Hi Aria, welcome to Dreamviews!
I'm relatively shy and like to keep to myself, but it allows me time to think and reflect, including thinking about what my next lucid dream will be like. If you feel that you need organization when it comes to a dream journal, there's an awesome blog-style DJ system here - you might have already seen it near the top of this page, aptly titled "Dream Journals". Know that a dream journal doesn't necessarily need to be perfect; it's really just to cement what you dreamed about into your memory. I've recorded dreams on looseleaf and typed most of them up here, but many of them I just threw out without typing up. I still remember them though, because I took the time to really think about the details in the dream, and wrote enough details down on the paper before tossing it.

What technique(s) are you using to attain your lucid dreams? There's a lot of resources in the Dreamviews Wiki, and if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask!

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

So am I, We're practically made for each other!

      Welcome to DV, Aria.

Puffin's Beginner's Guide To Lucid Dreaming is a great place to start learning about lucid dreams. You should also browse the Tutorial section when you get the chance, it's full of information, tips, and in-depth guides. On top of that, you can also visit the DV Academy for further guidance - the DVA Professors will teach you everything you'll ever need to know about lucid dreaming.

You might also want to get into the habit of performing reality checks (maybe two or three) throughout your day, you'll eventually start doing them in dreams and become lucid. I usually count my fingers but feel free to look up other methods and see which works best for you. I'd also recommend keeping a dream journal; regularly recording your dreams is a great way to improve to improve recall and you'll be able to notice common themes and patterns which can further help you attain lucidity.

We also have an off-topic section as well where you can discuss anything from books, movies, tv shows, philosophy, current events, etc so be sure to visit that part of the forum as well. If you ever get bored or need to kill time, visit Senseless Banter. It's full of nonsensical threads like forum games and the SB frequenter's are a friendly bunch so feel free to drop in sometime. We also have an IRC Chat Server which can be found near the top of the forum index. 'tis lulz.
