There's a big difference between dreaming "about" lucid dreaming, and having a lucid dream. If you're dreaming that you were lucid, then you were lucid, no matter how much control you had. I've dreamed about lucid dreaming, where I'm talking to someone about being lucid or (unsuccessfully) trying to WILD in my dreams. But if you say "I must be dreaming" at any point, then that's lucidity. When you "dream about a lucid dream", it's probably just low-level lucidity, where there may not be a great deal of realism or control.

At least this is how I think things are.

I don't know if I agree with you on this one Ame.
I have has several dreams that I have gone through the motions. I have tried teaching my sister, in depth about lucid dreaming, done realtiy checks and other things too. But there was no conscious awareness about my thoughts at all. It was no differant than having a normal dream and discussing any other topic.
(I have had dreams where things did not feel right. I new that. But I never became aware that I was in a dream. I guess you could call that some level of lucidity. Maybe.

Yeah, I have to disagree on that, Ame.
I can't explain it, but in my dream I was ACTING completely lucidly. I seemed lucid. Except when I woke up, I realised I hadn't been lucid.
      How?

It just... felt totally different. It felt like a normal dream. Lucid dreams feel distinctly different to me.

I've read some where that dreams are not real at all, that your brain constructs them right when you wake up.
I think that's where you are coming from, fluid phil.

But well, I totally disagree with that. I don't know who the hell came up with that theory, or why one would think that way.

For all you know, you could be hullucinating right now. Maybe there is no such thing as a computer, it's just something your brain made up and now you falsly think that you are using one to read this post.

I could go on forever ..

The bottom line is: if you feel that you've experienced something totally awesome, then you've achieved the goal of LDing. Even if it wasn't real.

      Edit:
added the OP's name to make it clear who I'm replying to.

My sister always says that its impossible to turn the lights on or off in a room, which In a regualar dream I heve never done, and I know in dreams many devices fail, but I will make it one of the first things I do in a lucid dream

edit* i dont kow why I said it, but Ithink it had to do with the misconceptions that some people have a bout dreams like the person who said that they read that dreams are made up right when you awaken.

First off who said that disagreeing is a theory? Second know one said TOTALLY disagree! Wich makes a big differance. Third I am intitled to disagree with anything I want. This does not mean I don't respect anothers opion or give it the time of day and consider it. Otherwise I guess I would agree with everything.
Saying, " the bottom line", is more diffinitive, and has a more linier approach at a discussion than that of simply not agreeing with someone.
For example. What you say about your brain constructng a dream opon awakening sounds totally obsurd to me. I disagree with you. But prove your point. I don't discount it. It could be true.

hello, this is a forum post, not a scientific paper ..

First off who said that disagreeing is a theory?

huh? what are you talking about?

I disagree with that too .. I've heard it from someone, but I don't believe it.

      I think you misunderstood me.

      EDIT:
just to clear things up, that previous post of mine was a reply to the original post, not to you.

      My oppologies electron!
I did misunderstand you. I thought you were critisizing Placebo & I for disagreeing with Amethyst Star's post.
It seems that I have been going around and around with this topic. .
