Lucid dream error from bad recall? Is there a way to stop it???

Last night I had my first Lucid dream on purpose . I knew I was dreaming, I could control it, but it was not realistic. I couldn't hear, feel, smell, or taste anything in it. It was more like watching a silent movie. Was this called by my terrible recall? All my dreams are like this and I want to stop it.

Hmmmmmm, strange. Have you ever had normal sensory perception in dreams? If not then this would be a sign that you are dreaming which can help you to DILD. That does not solve your problem though in that you want full sensory perception. Maybe you should speak with a dream psychologist or sleep pathologist as this could be some deep rooted and personal issue. I am no expert but I think that it is unlikely that anyone who is not medically trained would be able to help you. By all means if someone on DV knows what is going on in this circumstance then they will help you out but I think that it is unlikely. Drugs can inhibit dream senses or perhaps something else which would not normally be considered drugs. Beyond this I can not help

Oh, I know! I think I viewed the dream after it really happened.

Try to RC then stabilize after you become lucid next time. Perhaps that will help to create these senses. But I guess it would be hard to stabilize without sense of touch....

I don't think you need to worry about a deep psychological disorder, it is likely you were just near the end of your REM cycle and were waking up, or were just not rooted in the dream very well. General bad recall can make you feel disconnected in the memories of non-lucid dreams as well.

Counter this by using stabilization and focus techniques to get in touch with the dream world. Touch things, pat down your body, look at your hands...the usual.

All well and good providing that this is not an ongoing problem. This is the impression I got from Icebreeze. I believe that pomegranate juice is brillian for heightening dream awareness and sensory perception in dreams. You could try this I guess, I can not guarantee that it will work but it would be a good starting point.
