Lucid dream control and in-dream brain error messages...

      Hi guys,
      Great site we have here!

I rareley have lucid dreams, as I simply cant be bothered generating the imense data structures to simulate a 3D enviornment like a GPU on a graphics card on a PC can.

Anyway, I happened to have a quick lucid dream to try something out. I fell asleep as I did, not being very tired. I fell asleep with the light on next to my bed.

When I awoke in the dream world, I was lying on the floor supposedly naked, and all the furniture in my bedroom was gone. That was okay since I requested my memory to remove these objects to minimse cache storage in my memory.

I asked my brain to generate a demon (see movie Demons 2 by dario agento for further information) opponent. I asked my brain to schedule the demon biological unit within 30 heart beats from zero dream time (as opposed to seconds since time dilation is not constant and varies with a state of mind, but the heart rate doesnt vary unless scared).

The lattitude and longitude and altitude coordinates were not specified, but I left that to my brain to intutivley develop these coordinates based on a probable real world experience.

Then I asked my brain to generate some Katana blades similar to Leonardo in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turles. However, I saw an error message appear before my eyes stating:
WARNING: INSUFFICIENT COGNITIVE PROCCESSOR ACCESS DETECTED
So instead of wishing for the swords to appear on my back ready to be pulled by my hands into action to fight the demon, I asked my brain to generate a 3D model of the sword and copy it and place them on my back. Another error message appeared stating:
WARNING: INSUFFICIENT DATA AVAILABLE FOR REQUESTED OBJECT GENERATION. COGNITIVE PROCESSOR UNAVAILABLE. PLEASE AWAKEN TO USE THIS FACILITY.
Finally, I tried for the last time, imagining I have weapons close enough to a pair of swords. Then another message appeared stating:
WARNING: UNABLE TO COMPLETE REQUEST. VIOLATION OF ENERGY CONSERVATION LAW DETECTED. USE EXISTING OBJECTS IN AREA OR AWAKEN FOR OBJECT DEFINITION.

At least that was what I remember. Very freaky and very strange stuff. The messages were surrounded by a dialogue box as one would see in Windows ® sesions when an error occured.

After that point I gave up. The room was very dark, but still light enough to see the surroudings.

Then I thought, Im defenceless, then I remember in a NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET how people would awake in the dream world and start walking around. Fearing that if I were to do that, I would encounter the demon for sure, so I stayed in my room until the dream expired. Nothing happened, so I thought I would go to the door of the room. There the demon jumped out from a side door in front of me ready to attack me. At that moment I sent an emergency request signal to my memory - EXIT SCHEME 3.

This is a message corresponding to an exit scheme of how I depart the dream world. There are four of them, but I wont bore you with the details. Exit Scheme 3 puts my dream into self-camera mode, and I see my outside body starting to fade from the dream world, the dream world then fading to black, and then a breif flash of light bringing me out of the dream into the world of this reality. The fading effect can be seen in a nightmare on elm street 6 where a girl fades from the dream world as freddy kreuger tries to strike her. This is my default exit scheme I use, and I cant be bothered changing it yet.

The dream lasted for around 400 heart beats (about 5 minutes of real world time) (heart rate was in partial fear mode, beating at 1.5 Hz I dare say).

The experiement failed. I was almost killed by this demon. The point to this whole dream was that I wanted to generate a simple pair of defence objects. Strangley, my brain could generate a demon figure very well (complete with ugliness, sounds, reflections, u name it...) yet the brain could not generate a simple pair of swords when kindly requested three times, as I got all these error messages. Such messages are common, but become an annoyance when it comes to lucidity.

One final thing is that I cannot fly in my dreams. I have tried and belived it is possible in the dream world, but my brain will give errors messages like : WARNING: W=mg where g=9.80665 m/s^2 UNABLE TO COMPLETE FLYING PROPERTIES or something of the sort. My brain is too logical and too hardwired into realities physics. Yet I believe I can do what I want in the dream, but I am at the mercy of the Cognitive processor or the frontal lobe and rarley my brain honours what I want, unless its purely a real thing with justified principles of occurance.

Any ideas anyone on how I can get around these error messages and make my dreams worthwhile lucid? Feedback and discussion on my account will be much appreciated!

      Thanks in advance guys!

Woah, thats some very very technical mathematical ld you have there. You must have absolute control in your dreams with those exits and knowledge, how dod you know how many heartbeats you had and the frequency?

Are these error messages in words before your eyes?

Hmm strange ld ya got there, very controlled and intense by the sounds of it

Welcome to the forum as well,

O_o That was an interesting dream.

      Welcome on board!

I would suggest that you instruct your mind to install another 512Mb of dual-DDR RAM. This will provide sufficient resources for you to install the Lucid Dream object add-on library release 3.21a. After installation of this library, an reboot will be required to register all applicable objects.

      That might help.

      Good Luck!
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

In reply to Xisdence and others

Thanks guys for the warm extended welcome!...

In reply to Xisdence, I was able to hear my heart beats and my breathing. However, I was paralysed during this sleep and would not fall awake unless I sent a signal, or a desire to wake, or whatever you like to call it (i prefer tech words because in the end, the brain is a biotechnical organism, complete with cells and signals...so for my sake, its just all signals to me, as hex codes are to computers...)

The error messages appeared before my eyes, centered in my field of view (0 radians lattitude, 0 radians longitude). They were green letters that faded into view, were semi-transparent, and faded from view. They appeared only for a few seconds or a couple of heart beats.

You know its funny how my brain generates a near perfect 3d model of an active demon, but not an active pair of swords for me to fight it with. I guess its because i have seen that demons movie, which was great in effects but a crappy story line (like 28 days later)... My pshychologial threads would most likley have directly pointed to the memory source containing the visual, emotional, physcological, and acoustical parameters describing the terrifying demon. Sadly, I have no data in my mind for the swords. I know what they look like, but for some reason, the brain was not able to point to an abudant memory store for this object.

Those error messages happen so often that i accept it as part of sleeping, most times i dont remember my dreams. I dont dare to. Simply because, Lucid Dreaming aparently drains a lot of phsycological energy (dopamine, melatonin etc) so when I have a dream that lasts in perception of around 12 hours (I can sleep up to 18 hours sometimes) then it feels like I have had 2 days WITHOUT SLEEP (1 day for real world, plus 1 day in dream world which approximates the real world). So Lucid dreaming is only induced when I have plenty of time to sleep, im very tired, and I have no activities scheduled for the next upcomming day (which I can relax, chill out and have some beers with my mates)

The frequency was detected at over 1 hz but less than 2 hz due to an increase in adrenalin due to the impending demonic attack in the dream (approximates real world reaction to a life threatining hazard for instance)

One last thing there, the words were not entirely spelled correctly in the error messages, but I was able to decode them and write them down in my dream journal that i keep around (since 2002). I hardly use it though, bit like my diary, i prefer a pocket pc

My brain loves making my dreams horrible or difficult for me. Always a friggin problem in them, always...Since I can control my actions in my dreams, say for instance, i smashed a window of a shop in a dream. The police are then called and im arrested and tagged.... I can never DO what I want, I can only do what I like...like != want...

What a geeky attention whore. There's no friggin way all this star trek borg computer generated lucid dreaming crap can be true. My 2 cents.

Sorry I came off a little harsh I guess if that's what you willed your lucid dream to be that's cool.

Welcome to the forum Cyberconian! :aphiusisonecrazySOB:

I'd have to say that you certainly are one unlucky individual. It seems to be like you said, you are too bound by the laws of the physical world....

I agree with Seeker here... try something crazy like that, try telling your brain to install the latest updates and models etc etc... It may sound weird, and he may have been joking, but it is your dream, and I am sure you have done weirder things in them...

      oh and welcome

This guy isn't going to last long at this forum. Making fake dreams crammed with PC metaphors and C operators (I'm taking about the like != want at the end) isn't fun and isn't smart.

"I rareley have lucid dreams, as I simply cant be bothered generating the imense data structures to simulate a 3D enviornment like a GPU on a graphics card on a PC can."

first off the computer is merely mimicing the brain and its functions.... your brain cant even be put in a league.... so i find this hard to believe that u cant 'generate' something... and if your desire to dream isnt there... well thats just a negative step to start on.

However your speaking about the 3rd person could have some meat to it... this offen happens to me in a dreamworld.

The exits... well how do you get to a dreamworld ? this would most prob be the same as your exits...

so dont compare your brain to a computer and maybe u can make thoses swords and more appear...

my other thoery would be that of the 'square' square people are way to logikal and seems to lack imagination.... since they follow constant process's.

      What a fun read!
That's either a troll having fun, or someone with some serious issues.

The brain as computer analogy is soooo over used. The brain doesn't serially process lines of code. There aren't seperate hardware and software elements like a processor with an operating system, the magic seems to happen in how the hardware is built; how the neurons form networks and super networks. The brain is an organic amazing pattern matching "machine", apparently relying on some kind of parallel processing methods we barely understand. How emotions occur are
      presently beyond our understanding.

Anyway, a very creative post, if nothing else.

      WELCOME!!!!

I would suggest that you have a frontal lobotomy and try again!!!!

Seriously, the dream world had no real boundaries, it will if you imagine them, though. If you start thinking of computer shit and realize that you are a living person and not some form of program, then you might be able to do what you want. There is nothing that indicates you have to see things that way, so if you don't want that to happen just shout "END COMPUTER NERD DREAM SEQUENCE!!! COMMENCE LIFE!!!!" or something to that extent.
      If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...
