Tips for increasing chance of lucid dreams?

      Hi
I started to read about Lucid Dreaming (and Astral Projection) for now 6 months ago, but haven't been practiced so much. (In this 6 months I have had 1 lucid dream, 1 half OBE, 2 false awakings).
I tried to make reality checks at the beginning but was quite hard to remember to make them, and after a month I wasn't that hyper to really want lucid dreams as I first was.
However I found an application to my android phone for a while ago, where I can choose intervals when it will remind me to make reality check by making sound. (This I have also started to use as a tool for DEILD, as it automatic shuts off after a few seconds).

Anyways, I wonder if there is other tips that I can do to increase the chance for lucid dreams?
This is everything I got atm:
      - Reality checks as much as possible
      - Tell myself before bed that next time I'm out of my bed, I am dreaming
      - Writing dream journal

Also really have to make habits of all these

I have heard of some dream pills? but found those expensive, and that I also have to order them through internet.

What else can help to increase lucid dreams?

Also I would like to point out that making reality checks at morning when you wake up, shall be a habit too. It will prevents false awakings. I didn't see that tip in DV's reality check tutorial when I read it.
I have yet not made habit of it, really have forgot to do it, but I sure will get my hands on it and make habit of it.

make a lot of goals. goals keep you motivated. there are too many people on this site saying "i've lost my motivation".

notice as much as you can. keep your eyes peeled for anything out of the ordinary.

have a backup RC. if the first one fails, try the second one. sometimes an RC will fail even if you're in a dream.

      Good luck!

The most important thing of it all is to have a good reason for wanting to learn how to lucid dream. If you don't have a clear goal in mind when performing all those annoying tasks and writing down seemingly useless fragments, you won't get far.

Motivation like Wristblade said. You want to visualize things you will do, read what others have done and watch alot of awesome movies in which there's alot of impossible things going on. Join a class (mine if you'd like), start a competition with a friend or yourself. The more dedicated you are, the easier it gets to have a lucid dream. It will be slow in the beginning, but try to be fascinated by the few seconds of lucidity you get. I mean, you're standing in a landscape inside your mind! Isn't that just awesome by itself?

Then the endless things you can do, and WILL! Believe in yourself, that's the second most important things. The techniques help you achieve lucidity, but it's your motivation and dedication that will get you lucid. If you can keep them up, you'll slowly get better and better, and soon you'll be having them weekly if not daily.

Always check if you're dreaming when you wake up. Also take a look at the other techniques there are. I suggest you try WBTB wholeheartedly atleast once, it's an amazing complementing technique. I advise against taking any kind of supplement before you've tried very hard for a long time. You don't want to fool yourself that you need them to get lucid, you have the power yourself. If you've lost hope though, they can get you started so to say.

If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Okay, thanks both of you! I will think more about it and make goals.

      Thank you very much!
But what do you mean with classes? How do I join it? Sounds very interesting

By the way, what's the IRC channel here? I see on the "chat" button it comes up an web IRC window, just would like to connect to it on mIRC if possible.
Tried also to use the search function and searched for IRC, but no results.

Well. I MILD and DEILD and I've been getting at least 1-2 LDs in a week Personally I reccomend that you work on your dream recall so you remember every dream you have that night and you do a mantra in your bed before you fall asleep ex. " I will remember my dream, I will remember my dreams." and "I will have a lucid dream, I will have a lucid dream." And after doing this for a month or so that Is how I started chaining and getting some constant lucids. Because I personally think WILD are wayyyy too overrated while nobody cares about MILDing and DEILDing while there are the easiest least stress way to have lucids (if you master them) every night! I hope these Tips help you broski and btw the only reality check I evvvver do Is looking at my hands and saying "Im Lucid" and I dont even have a dream journal but I have an online one and I really never post:p

The dream classes can be found here: DV Academy They're open to anyone. Just do what the rest do and create a workbook after reading up on what the class is about. MILD is the technique I use.
