      Fresh Meat

Hi everyone! I suppose I'm the newest newbie here--at least for now, anyway.
I've been trying (off and on) to have a lucid dream for quite some time. I'm 18 years old and I first became interested in lucid dreaming and astral projection when I was 14. Unfortunately I have never successfully experienced either. I hope to change that very soon. I'll be a senior in highschool next year and one of my summer goals is to have a lucid dream--at least one, if not many. I had a dream diary, and at one point I was recording two dreams a day. However, recording all the details can be cumbersome, and at some point I wasn't able to focus on lucid dreaming because school work demanded my attention. Also, I fear one of my many siblings will attain my diary and read it. They would probably point and laugh at me, especially since some of my dreams are strange and would be rather embarrasing to retell.

I hope someone will become my "buddy." I'm not entirely sure how I acquire one, but I'd love to have someone else to discuss my trials, failures, and, hopefully, successes with.

I suppose after 4 years of waiting I've lost my patience. I'm ready to have a lucid dream and fast. Last night I felt very close, and I may have actually had a lucid dream. Unfortunately I don't remember it now, so I can't be certain. In fact, I believe I've actually had lucid dreams, but, inevitably, I probably forgot them.

When I was four I had an interesting dream where I pinched myself--and felt it! I suppose that's as lucid as I've ever been. But that was so long ago, and I'm ready for some action now.

I've been trying mnemonic induction, waking up/ going back to sleep induction, the whole "mantra" thing, and "dream checks," but so far no luck. I'm going to start writing in my diary again, so maybe that'll help.

Great to have you buddy.. One thing for sure you have the most important ingrediant and that is the desire to achieve. Capturing Lucid Dreaming can be a difficult task at times but with drive and desire like yours you should'nt have any problems. When you had your dream before pinching yourself thats a good sign of Lucidity. You were self aware that this is possibly a dream so you did your own Reality Check. I tell ya the potential is there and now its time to wake up the sleeper and get started on a Lucid Journey. This Forum has wonderful people that will help you on your way to achieving this goal. I think Obtaining Lucidity is a very unique and wonderful goal for anyone. Your heart is for sure in the right place and you will see a vast amount of individuals who will be your buddy and help you starting with me. IF my intuitions are correct one of the best persons to talk with will arrive right after me. Aq..... come on down...hehe!

LOL Shadow...you pretty much said everything I would have said!!

To reiterate what he said, it is great that you have this desire...and the potential is there. I definitely think that returning to dream journaling will be very important. It will help you to be able to recall more dreams a night, and recognize dream signs that will lead to your lucidity.

And just know that there are so many awesome people here who are all here to help one another, so you will find LOTS of friends and lots of open hearts and open ears.

Feel free to ask or PM me or any of the other Dream Guides or members here any questions you might have. You might also want to check out the adoption forum if you want some real one on one attention with an experienced lucid dreamer.

      And WELCOME TO THE FORUM!!!

Hey shadow!!! I have no idea why, but I didn't realize it was you!!!! I didn't even know you were back man!!! Damn...the lack of sleep must have done me real bad yesteday!

Great to have you back! It's really been too long and we could always use a lucid god like you around to teach the younglings (god how I hate the word, which made revenge of the sith all the more annoying: "OMG YODA!!!111 HE LAIK KILLED ALL TEH YOUNGLINS!111").

erm....anyway, point is you're back and that'a great....just try to stick around this time

      P.S. Eminem watch your back!

yeah...the acting was by aweful, and so were most of the lines. Like that youngling one or the "ANI YOU'RE BREAKING MY HEART!" bullcrap that Lucas spewed out of his ass after probably watching one too many soaps in between the trilogies in the past 20 years...

Welcome to DV, Keeper of the Grove (I love you name, btw! It just sounds so... so.... [insert coolish word here] !)

All that's left for me to do is wish you good luck and don't worry about other people interrupting. They're just being friends (we all are)
