      My First LD

Last Night I set my alarm to 5:30, but for some reason I woke up before that time without the alarm. I tried to do a WILD but I couldn't get relaxed enough, so I went and watched TV for about 30-60 minutes, then went back to sleep. Then the dream started, I was in my bed (thought it was a little diffrent, and I knew I was asleep) I got out of the bed and walked to my living room, there was a table with things on it, and I said to myself "Hmm I wonder if I can move those with magic or something" and when I got next to the table I started moving the objects around by moving my hands around, but for some reason I couldnt move them up and down, then I went back to my room and went to my computer and it looked all upgraded, then I woke up.

I'm so happy I had a Lucid Dream, it felt MUCH diffrent from a real one.

You did it! Great! I always know I am dreaming when the dream starts as well. I hope your LDs are like this more.

      Happy LDing ,

So many variables, so little knowledge.

From what you wrote (and what I understood) you seemed to be half-lucid.

However, I hope now with your first LD you became addicted like us

      Congratulations

Isn't that the truth. This is why it is so difficult to explain an LD to someone who has not had one.
And you will find that your mind is capable of any kind of magic you allow it to.

Yea, that's true. I always hear people saying "So what...you try so hard...just only to control your dreams? I just stay to my NDs and I am happy". So now how can you explain to such a person what's the actual difference. huh?

If you know you are dreaming, then you are lucid. However some lucids can be very realistic and you will have alot of control, whereas other lucids may be blurry and you won't have much control. I think there are degress of lucidity, but I don't think they can be described as "half" or "full" lucid.

I agree with you aquanina on that. There are so many levels of lucidity and so many other variable to take into account half and full just does not do it justice.

Oddly enough when you say very realistic you mean vivid and a high level of lucidity, correct?
I have had a few lucid dreams that were TOO clear to the point I could not differentate the waking world from me being in a dream. So in a sense they were realistic to the point that they had no dream signs

While some would say this is all part of learning dream control I think it is also due to your confidence in your dream. As corny and PeterPan-ish this may sound, I think it all comes down to how strongly you believe it to happen.

You might have gotten excited about the fact that you were moving objects which "distracted" you to the fact that you were in a dreamworld where you could do anything you wished.

      Good luck next time!
