      I couldn't go lucid!

I was having a dream where I was freerunning around my town, and then I started to do my gorilla/tiger thing (see: Moving around like an animal...). I stopped because I noticed something weird, and then started walking around normally, and went under a gas station where I was like, "Let me make sure." I looked down at my wrist and all I saw was a piece of green fluorescent plastic that looked like it could have been a watch. At that point, I started saying I was dreaming, but nothing happened. Or maybe nothing was supposed to happen? I was even screaming it out loud, and at that point I was worried that my physical body was screaming, too.

If you really want to have a lucid dream, you can dream about lucid dreams without becoming lucid, don't worry about it, you probably weren't concious enough to become lucid. It's completely normal, I had a non lucid about going to the dreamviews academy.
Thinks I could advise, read up on some DILD guides, maybe all day awareness, this will increase your chance of spotting dreamsigns like this.
If you have anything else to ask, just say

But I was pretty aware that I was dreaming while dreaming. Holy crap, it really felt like I was NOT dreaming at all. It really almost felt like what it feels like when I'm doing something weird in real life and go, "Am I dreaming?" So when I finally did an RC and saw that I was dreaming, I thought I was gonna be lucid. The dream just kept going on, and then I eventually woke up.

If you were aware you were dreaming you were lucid, so well done on your second lucid dream?!
Every time I'm lucid it's a cool and amazing experience, to know that this world is generated by your brain, although if I think about these things too much I wake up!

I can't believe I had another one the day after I had my first one. Now I guess I should go read guides on what to do after becoming lucid.

Is anything "special" supposed to happen the moment you realize you're dreaming? Or does your dream just continue on with the only difference being you're aware?

Well you're aware so you can do what you want with it, the dream does tend to become less stable when you realise, and sometimes I feel pinned down when I become lucid. Read as much as you can, it's a great way to improve.

Heck, if you don't count that as a lucid dream, my LD Count would be reduced to 1. Maybe even 0!
Oh dear... I'm not even sure if it does count or not. 0_o

I think what you're calling "lucid" is actually the amount of control you have in your dream. That was my mistake when I didn't know as much. Am I right?

I just had the same thing happen to me last night again! I was in Italy I think and I was running up a street like an animal, when all of a sudden I started telling myself I was dreaming. That's my dream sign now!

This can change from dream to dream. Perhaps if the dream is not very vivid, once you become lucid, it can be incredibly lucid. Sometimes (like the two lucids i woke from just then) nothing changes at all, the dream carries with the slight change that you may notice weird things that are going on.
      Good luck

Any questions about lucid dreaming? Drop me a PM here!

Yeah what happened this time is I became pretty vivid. Nothing really big changed other than that though, but I don't really remember what else I did after I became lucid, even though I remember the biggest dream I had (kind of) where I went to Italy and Germany.

One of my "fears" when it comes to LDing is that I'll have a dream where I become aware that I'm dreaming but that THAT is just part of the dream story, basically making me still an observer. That hasn't happened to me, but I think it would be frustrating if it did haha.

Hopefully, you're having real lucid dreams and just haven't gotten to the point of exercising dream control yet. I'm with Arch. Keep reading up on the forum and the tutes. You'll get great ideas of what to do when you become lucid. And it sounds like you're in store for many more lucid dreams, so CONGRATS!

Ah is that what it is then? Just part of the dream story? Well that kind of sucks. I've been trying to give myself the placebo effect by labeling my Melatonin 3mg pills to Lucid DreamPills 3mg but so far no luck. I kinda wanna spend some money for that REM dreamer device, but it's also something you can make DIY.

I can't say for sure that that's what it is. That's just one of the things I think about sometimes. It sounds like in those dreams, you're a hair's breadth away from being fully lucid with dream control.

I was even screaming it out loud, and at that point I was worried that my physical body was screaming, too.
And here, you were even aware of your two selves (dreaming self and physical body). Sounds like lucidity to me.

As stated earlier, you can have a dream about lucid dreaming without actually being lucid. But also keep in mind that you can have a lucid dream without dream control, also. So THAT might also be what you're experiencing - like what Wilford111 was saying.

Just keep reading and learning about dream control. As you're reading, thinking, talking, and learning about LD and dream control, you're infusing your subconscious mind with LD/dream control skills. It's inevitable that you will experience lucidity and dream control. You may not have control over WHEN it will happen, but it will happen. (Of course, some devices like the REM dream masks, etc. probably could help... but definitely not a necessity.)

I've had lucid dreams before i joined DV. But I didn't know what LDs were, and never thought to practice dream control. So now, I don't count any of my earlier lucid dreams. As far as I'm concerned, the day I joined DV and spent hours reading about what LDing is and what dream control is, I started at an LD count of 0. After a couple of weeks of constantly reading and talking about LDing, I had my first LD with dream control. After that, life happened... and I slowed down A LOT on cultivating my LDs, so nothing happened for a long time. Then a few nights ago, I started reading about LDs again and ~bang~ another LD.

I've experienced a lot of unintentional dream incubation all my life. I think now is a good time to study my own dream patterns when it comes to that. I think if I study it right, I can mix incubation with DILD and have some awesome experiences.

Anyway, just be confident that as much as you have LDing on the brain, you WILL have lucid dreams. And as long as you study what to do when you become lucid, you'll be able to exercise dream control. Good luck! And have some kickass dreams.
