The final transition into the dream can be tricky. By the time we get there, our minds are so spaced out, it is hard to think straight. Try preparing a simple visualization ahead of time so you are ready. Then, recreate it when you are in the final stage of your WILD, hallucinating hypnagogia, vibrations, body distortions, and such.
I have the most success creating a visualization of something very simple, tactile, and familiar. I use a clear memory from waking life, such as walking down a familiar street, or doing something in my own home. Using a memory makes it easy to recreate the feeling.
