Red face Is Dream Recall Neccesary for a WILD?

I know it might be a stupid question, but is it? If your going into a dream from a conscious state and you transition, then do you really need to 'recall' doing it?

      Thanks guys!

What is the point of having a lucid dream if you don't remember having it after you wake up?

Sounds like a Zen koan: If you have a lucid dream, but no one is there to remember it, did it happen?

But then again, since an LD is a waking consciousness event, traditional dream recall really shouldn't be necessary. Maybe Arcazle's question is less stupid than it appears at first glance.

That said: Yes, Arcazle; whatever value you put on dream recall, or however you define it, remembering an LD would be the same process, regardless what method you used to get there.

      Thanks!

Yeah I worded my question a little wrong, I just thought you'd recall going into a WILD dream because you were conscious from the start. :/ Don't worry!

It depends really. If you never remember dreams, it will obviously pose a problem but if you have average dream recall you should be fine.

Hmm, well in a WILD, you are conscious the entire time. So as long as you wake up fully once the WILD is over, you should remember everything even if you normally have horrible recall.

"Dream recall" is a term used to refer to how successful somebody is when remembering the dream. It sounds to me like the OP thinks this is a special process one must undertake to remember their dreams, which isn't true.

So to answer your question, yes, remembering your dream is always good.
