      Using dream signs, help!

      Hello.
I've had 4 Lucid dreams, all induced by no particular reason, except me realizing it was a dream, only to do a reality check after that.

I'm really bad at learning to reality check, I keep forgetting it. That's one problem..

But my main problem is: I KEEP having dreams including TRAINS. I'm not exaggerating when I say that 30-40% of my dreams include me riding a train or catching a train. I'm almost always stressed in the dreams as I try to catch the train in time (sometimes i do catch it, sometimes I don't).

But if I just had the ability to say "Whenever I see a train, I will do a reality check" or something like that, my Lucid dream count would increase rediciously fast. If I wake up and I don't remember a dream, I just think to myself "When was the last time I saw a train?", and then I get a flashback from a dream and I work it from there.

The reason of me having stressful train catch related dreams is not that important, as I don't want to solve the problem as I really think it could be a perfect gateway to often Lucid dreams, lol.

I've really tried to do the "WHENEVER I SEE A TRAIN, I WILL REALITY CHECK"... But nothing makes me aware, because a train is so god damn regular for me. Everyday to school and home, whenever I go to work, whenever I need to meet a friend and whenever I have to see my girlfriend.

I would LOVE some good helpful tricks to HOW I could turn this train dreaming thing into a positive thing for my Lucid dreams! Any tips appreciated, thanks alot!

Recently I also had a lot of dreams involving trains. I still don't know why.

Since trains are so common in your everyday life, I suggest you do a reality check whenever you see one. Whether you are on a station, riding a train or even seeing a train in a film, do a reality check. If you do this enough, it should become sort of a habit that will carry over to your dreams.

You can also try to do a reality check whenever you read or hear the word "train". Even if it's twice in the same sentence. That way you just might become lucid after hearing dream characters talk about trains, for example.

      I hope this helps somehow.

Though Enjyu's advice is spot-on, I thought I might add one tidbit:

When you do those RC's whenever you are on, see, or think of a train, you might go one step further and consider carefully why you're on that train, where you're going, and, above all, if this is the day you should actually be be on board. Enough thought about these things might, during the dream, tear your awareness away from the comforting dull glow of permanence and direction that the trains might be projecting (thus making lucidity not so interesting).

That said, Trains are one of the three recurring dream signs that I myself have refused to spot for years. There's something about a train that's magic, I guess. hopefully you'll have better luck than I have using them as a dream sign.

lol, maybe it's your dead wife trying to communicate with you?

Anyway, throughout the day, just take a minute to look around for any trains. IT may seem silly, but it'll be a helpful habit. If you see no trains, remind yourself that if you DO see a train you need to do a RC (and if not, do an RC anyway for good measure). This might strengthen the association of RCing and seeing trains in your mind.

      Haha, I get it

Everybody here nailed it. Whenever you see a train, make it a habit to examine your surroundings and look if there's something weird or unnatural in it. Make a conclusion wether you're dreaming or not. It's a matter of practicing your awareness.

Thanks a lot people - I really appreciate it. It seems quite hard for me to make a RC habbit, but I'll just keep practicing
