      an intriduction of sorts

Hello every one my name is Carlos Anthony Rodriguez I go by my middle name of Anthony. I am 20 years old. I have had a hard time dreaming for the past few years untill Christmas, granted it was a nightmare it was something. I had another the next day but it was vague. Sence then nothing. I'm glad I stumbled opon this site, I always end up Googling lucid dreaming after watching inception. I want to start doing and learning this so that I can really just dream again. For hobbies I keep reef Aquariums, do bonsai, I paint a bit both miniatures and canvas and i read a good bit to. Thanks to every body and I'm off to start reading stickies

You don't have to learn lucid dreaming to dream again, I think it works the other way round. There was a period where I didn't have any dreams at all (or probably I had but I can't recall that I did dream of them). But the moment my troubles started piling up, my dreams came back instantly, and dreams are a everyday thing for me now. Anyway, welcome to Dream Views!

      Start using a dream journal!
Maybe drink water before bed, so you naturally wake up, the more you wake up the more dreams you remember. Anytime you recount anything from a dream (sensations, events, feelings etc) write them down, when you first start you might want to write more, and in more detail, but after a while your dream recall will be pretty good.
You could also set alarms in the middle of the night, but it's always better if you wake up naturally (which is why the water thing is good, unless you're a very deep sleeper)
Good luck! if you have any questions feel free to make a thread or ask here

Thank-you very much both of you I picked up a note pad yesterday as well as vitamin b-6 the newbie article sayed it might help. I actually had a couple dreams last night! another reason I think I was barely dreaming is that i was in training with the marine corp for the last 9 months. I before that tho I was only remembering about 4-6 dreams a year going back about 5 years. Great idea with the water! Now im of to read up more on ld inducing

Just doing a quick check in! Been dreaming at least 2ce a night now and also set a regular bed time that I am not fallowing tonight haha had a date I think i almost had a lucid dream but hard to recal. My recap is very good some nights and worst others but over all its improvement. As a side not in the short week and a half I've been keeping a journal I've had 2 prophetic dreams is this strange? I've had dreams that have been like this before ent good reading I could do?
