Congrats, I think you managed to WILD. Meditation and third eye practice is excellent for entering and controlling the WILD experience. You pretty much did the standard WILD technique perfectly: wake up after some amount of sleep, focus your inner eye by visualizing the details of something, then you experienced some HI (the name calling). Then when you opened your eyes you entered a lucid dream, but it wasn't in your room like some people do. A clue is that the dream included the faces of the friends you were visualizing. Then you snapped out of it. Your mind might have been kind of "scrambled" having just started HI and a lucid dream, so you saw some weird ghost images. You woke up completely and fell asleep normally.
If you want more controllable lucid dreams, I would suggest visualizing your environment--perhaps every detail of your room, or a sandy beach, or a palace made of ice, whatever you feel like. Keep using your third eye technique and practice going into your dream body. For me personally, if I'm in a place I know already, like my house or a classroom, it's easier for me to stabilize the dream. Once you have a steady dream, you can continue to do whatever you like.
