Cool Hello universe.. Mr Higgs here

A jolly fine good day to you all,

      Life, the universe and everything

I decided to call myself Mr Higgs out of great respect for the 'God particle', the Higgs Boson. The human race is on the verge of confirming it's very existence from theory to actual observation.

It is this fantastic little particle and it's associated Higgs Field that snapped the universe from a perfectly uniformed state into it's irregular state and all within the first second of creation. This has been proved mathematically. It is the only particle (yet discovered) that imparts mass to all other discovered particles.

The ramifications of this are utterly astounding.

      • Coincidence cannot exist
      • The universe is predetermined (within the Higgs Field but not at the level of the Higgs Field)
      • The Higgs field still permeates the universe, has expanded with it and therefor is still in controls of it
      • What controls the Higgs Field, if anything, is unknown

It can be stated quite factually that the Higgs Field is either God Himself or a tool used by God (much like a pen on paper or even a holographic projector ).

This is our reality today at the forefront of our scientific knowledge.

I see the Higgs particle or the Higgs field as God Himself who has achieved awareness through us by pinching bits of His consciousness off, wrapping them up in an ego (for 'protection' from the truth). Cut off from God in this way we are able to fully experience life and the growing wisdom it teaches us. Complete loss of ego therefore results in us residing directly with God. Something I and many others have personally experienced. We cannot prove (nor do we need to) we simply all are this moment.

      My first deliberately instigated LD

About 3 months after my initial spiritual awakening I seriously began to research LD and came to the realisation that I had actually done this several times in my 46 year life already but had not realised the significance at the time.

The night before last I tried and failed. I had a good nights sleep though from hitting the pillow until I had to get up to continue in my real life.

Last night I had a large mug of passionflower tea just before bed. I went to bed late at about 1:30 am and set the alarm for 5 am. I mediated lying on my back with the mantra "I will wake up in my first dream". I do meditate on a fairly regular basis so this part for me was easy. As with meditation one will alway fall asleep whilst lying down meditating and not adopting the classic meditative posture. This was my intention and this is what happened.

I awoke naturally at 4 am but could remember no dream (but MrHiggs had wood!!! Not sure about the relevance of this). I went to the living room, lights on for half an hour, had a cigarette and went back to bed.

I didn't meditate this time but went to sleep naturally on my side knowing that the mantra was already embedded into my sub-conscious and would auto-alert me to any dream state I might enter.

I woke up and immediately knew I was dreaming (don't you just love these paradoxical statements). I was lying in bed and did my RC. I pushed my right thumb through my left hand under the covers (I felt it go through). I had been practicing this RC in my waking life for 3 days at this point.

I got out of bed as I normally did, stood up and made an effort to contain my excitement. I find meditation very beneficial to control my emotions in my waking life so was very pleased that I was able to control my emotions in the same way with my dream life. I stood around for a little smiling, looking around the room admiring it's crystal clarity and just being so amazed. I found my self constantly doing RCs for some reason (WHY? I already knew it was a dream). I thought I'd attempt to do something so I tried shout out loud "I AM LUCID". My mouth made the movements but no sound emerged (WHY?). I tried talking normally. Same thing so I consciously decided not to let this bother me. My clothes horse was in the room with me when I damm well knew it was in the 2nd bedroom. I had a good [internal] laugh at that.

At this point I realised that I had not yet looked at my arms. I held my left arm and observed it to be blurry. I tried to focus to make it appear real but that's when I woke up for real. (what did I do wrong here?)

I believe this dream lasted for about 2 minutes. Is this a good length dream? How does it relate to the passing of time in reality? Same pace?

I would really appreciate some help with my indicated questions.

I know this is the first step of some magical journey. Today is a great day.

      All my love,
      Mr Higgs

Great to see someone who's another fan of science! The "champagne bottle boson" always did astound me.

I wish you great luck in your coming future, where I'm sure you'll find yourself instituting as many lucid dreams as you could like.

Let's see if I can take a crack at these questions really quick:

      1) You probably just kept doing reality checks because you were amazed at the fact that you were dreaming. I was similar. I would constantly plug my nose and breathe, and do unusual things just to remind myself that I was dreaming. However, it could also be a totally different reason. If you were lucid, only you can really answer that question, though.

      2) I've never had trouble talking, but I have had trouble punching. It's just a dream thing. It's something you can over-come with practice. The more lucid dreams you have, keep trying to do these things. Try different methods, be creative. You'll get it eventually. We all have set-backs in different areas, but as soon as we can put those things behind us, the lucid dreaming will become that much better. Think of it as a repertoire of skills that you work to increase the size of.

      3) Your dream was simply fading away. Different people have different ways of keeping the reality of the dream intact. Many people like to rub their hands together. I did this last night, and I'm not certain that it really helped, however. Often times a great idea is to go and stimulate as many senses as possible, but don't get too lost in the moment or you may be distracted and forget you are dreaming. Smell things, touch things, pay close attention to what you see. Activate as many of your senses as you can!

      4) Your dreams will get longer with time and practice. My first lucid dream was about 3 seconds long. They'll get longer. The one I had last night was about 5-ish minutes. It's all in the practice.

      5) Studies show that the time that passes in dreams is relatively close, almost exactly, the same to the pace of time in real life, actually. A 2 minute dream, therefore, is going to be almost exactly as long in real time.

      6) Yep. Same pace. (5)

      Hope I helped!

Thanks LIS for addressing my questions. Yes you did

It seems I have a lot to learn. Practice makes perfect as they say. Can't wait. No dreams last night (that I can remember)

You make it sound so easy It is obvious your familiarity with meditation and self control is working for you.

There are all sorts of tricks you can do to stabilize the dream so it does not end prematurely. The hard part is remembering to do any of them in the split second of confusion when you become lucid. Just be sure to engage your environment. Look around, move around, touch everything. It helps to have a plan ahead of time. What would you like to do? Visualize yourself doing it as a part of your mantra or pre-sleep ritual.
