see what im looking at in real life but controlling my body in a dream?

Okay so a couple nights ago I had a dream where everything started out as just a normal dream, i was outside playing basketball and I tripped and fell then rolled over onto my back.I was looking up at my basketball hoops rim and the sky above me. Then all of a sudden the scene changed and I was looking at a portion of my ceiling fan and my ceiling but it was a weird scene part of the top right of my field of vision was black then then suddenly i was staring back at the hoop and sky scene above me when i tried to get up off the cement driveway but my body wouldn't let me. Then all of a sudden i was looking at the ceiling fan scene, but here's where it gets really weird. Even while i was looking at the ceiling I could still feel me laying down on the driveway underneath so i attempted get up and i did. Not being able to see where i was going because of the ceiling fan scene, I was walking around the yard blindly bumping into things and stumbling over unknown objects then I ran into the basketball hoop pole and it was just as painful as if it was in real life. Suddenly I was back in my bed and now fully conscience, I realized that what i saw in the dream was what i was looking at in real life, and the reason i could only see a portion of my ceiling fan was because i had my right arm over my face covering my right eye.

Please tell me what you think happened, thanks
      -Ben

Well first off, welcome to DV.
Even when you're asleep, your brain still registers light from the outside world, so if there was any light whatsoever in your room, your arm would have been blocking it from your eye. Your brain still recieved that messege, so it transfered it to your dream.
I'm not sure why you only got the ceiling fan image, but only seeing part of it would be the result of you covering your eye (obviously)
I hope that helped at least a tiny bit. (A good place to ask would be General Dream Discussion people who are capable of answering would most likely be found there.)
However, I'm not an expert about the physical relationship to dreaming, so you may want to get a second opinion. ^__^
