      Please help!!!!!

I really need help...either I haven't dreams for a long time or I can't remember my dreams...how can I induce dreams or remember them? I sleep very little...is that a problem? Like, at lucid dreaming, I'm professional, if I do say so myself...my first lucid dream I was 8 and I could fly and materialize anything with ease...on my first dream too! But I often have false awakenings. I seriously need help inducing or remembering dreams...please help!!!!! without remembering my dreams, sleep is very bad.

Okay, let's analyze what happened. You used to have dreams. But then you began to have lucid dreams and began to exercise a great deal of control... so much control that your dreams began to attempt to protect their integrity by going to False Awakenings, so as to deflect off all the control you were trying to impose.

My guess is that your Dreams finally just gave up. If you want to control everything, than just make up your own dreams. Your higher mind got tired of making up dreams which you would just throw away with your Lucidity.

But now you want your dreams back.

Okay. Then swear off Lucid Dreaming. Swear that if you are allowed to dream again, that you will take the dreams that are given you and not toss them out in exchange for some silly lucid parlour games that you want to play. Then your dreams will come back.

Now, Lucidity does have a valuable role to play, in moderation. But as you say, you never had moderation -- you were one of the Best at screwing up your natural dreams. So foreswear Lucidity and re-establish a normal dream life, and then why you receive a sign from your Higher Mind you can resume your Lucidity, but in moderation, and in cooperation with your Dreams. You know when you are over controlling when your dreams attempt to protect themselves with False Awakenings.

It a major factor that sleep deprivation. You should dream more hours. If you sleep few hours, you cannot pass through the biggest REM period...in that period you remember most of your dreams. And relax...sooner or later your dream recall will be back

WTF are you talking about, Leo?! That's just nonsense in my opinion.

Mikeytime, your biggest problem, like SweetMelancholy said, is that you sleep too little. How much do you exactly sleep each night? I think you should try to sleep at least 7 hours per night.

Everyone does dream, but everyone don't necessarily remember their dreams after waking up. It's pretty hard to remember dreams from the earlier REM-cycles of the night as they're much deeper sleep, and that's why you should try and sleep more. The longer you sleep, the easier it becomes to recall dreams.

If you still have problems with recalling dreams, there are several tricks you could try. One important thing is not to get up immediately after you wake up, but lie on the bed remembering your dreams. Also keep a dream journal and write down everything you can recall, even if it's just feelings.

      I hope this helps.

Yep, I'd bet on sleep deprivation too. I'm not totally sure what you're talking about Leo, but as far as I'm aware it's a safe bet to assume that our dreams are not sentient beings. I haven't seen one jump out of my head and force me to run after it (while attempting to swat it with a large tennis bat).

Amé said that sleep deprivation would kill her recall right away. The same happens for me, and I'm sure a load others. So that is probably your best bet.

Maybe you should actually try to understand something before you dismiss it as nonsense. What Leo said makes perfect sense to me. I think that our dreams have a message to convey to us, and when we try to overcontrol them our mind responds by causing us to have FAs if we are not getting what our subconscious or higher mind is trying to tell us.

Leo is saying that perhaps if you are able to recall your dreams, do not try to exert so much control over them...but rather learn from them, and then eventually you will go back to LDing. Basically your mind has sort of revolted against you.

But yeah, the sleep deprivation thing is important too.

Our dreams may not be sentient beings, but as my Gothlark showed me, our subconsciouses can sometimes be, and they basically control our dreams, especially in a non-lucid.

I agree with Nina, Sweet, Kaniaz, and Leo: you should appease your subconscious with more sleep, and not try to LD or anything for a while. Give it a rest, let it recharge.

Hmm...i don't know if the time you're going to sleep has anything to do with it...our body's natural instinct is to want to sleep when light levels get lower...
I'm not sure where you are in the world, but in England at 4.30 am it's daylight...and i know for a fact that if i want to go to sleep, it has to be dark...
Do you get round that by using a sleep mask?
It sounds like you need a more regular routine if you like, according to your body's natural rhythm...things like shift work can throw your dreaming mind out of whack...
And i do agree with Leo to an extent, in that i assume when i have 'little dreams' of no real importance, they aren't so vivid...i might remember them, but they don't mean much to me.
However, if something is trying to give me some kind of sign, my dreams are immediately more vivid, and a lot easier to remember.
And with regard to recall...make sure you have a good routine for going to bed, so that your brain knows it's time for sleep, and prepares itself accordingly.
Also, don't stress too much at first with not recalling your dreams, i've found that this only exacerbates the problem.
And by the way, welcome to the board!
