      Silverlake saying hello

      Big Hi to all !

I am glad that this site is here and is active, I think talking about the subject may make it easier to develop it.

A long long time ago when I was a child I remember opening my eyes in my bedroom and seeing a shadow figure of a human but all black in my doorway which said to me "Do it but don't", then I woke up and never found out the end of the sentence... I suppose that was a lucid dream.

For many years after I would often get false awakenings, I would seemingly open my eyes while in my bed and then press my light switch and the lights would not come on and I would find myself lying back in my bed. Sometimes it would take five or more attempts before the light would come on. I used to think that this was just a thing about me. But now it would seem this is actually quite common. Once I even looked over the side of the bed as it was morning and there was no floor just a void blackness, then I woke up properly.

These things were all before I found out about lucid dreaming. I have now had a number of (about 20) lucid dreams. My first was when a car went by and I noticed the wheels were not turning and so I realized I was dreaming and I shortly woke up, but to a false awakening where my cupboard door handle changed into a spike and headed quickly towards my face which woke me properly. This scared me quite a bit and it was a number of years before I decided to try again and had several more lucid dreams. Now I am trying to make them more regular. I have some questions and discussions but will leave that to more relevant sections of the forum as well as my experiences of my lucid dreams.

I am also interested in hypnotherapy and spiritualism as I would guess a lot of people into Lucid Dreaming would be ?

Anyway thank you for reading this little piece about my Lucid Dreaming self and I look forward to posting more

Welcome to DV, Silverlake! Have you started a dream journal? You can do so here on the site.

I believe the dark figure at your bed was not a dream, but you were in the transitional state into a lucid dream. Go ahead and post your questions when you are ready, people here are very helpful.

      Happy dreams!

So the shadow figure was a hallucination that can occur on a transition, oh ok. Makes sense. Thanks for the insight.

I will try to post past Lucid Dream details and future ones...

Hello. I was introduced to this site by my son because I have always been a very vivid dreamer, and also one who could resume my dream where I left off. I haven't been tracking my dreams lately, but the I realized today that I have been dreaming of modes of ground transportation for the past several nights. I don't remember anything else of particular note. I know this is very vague, but any ideas?

Hi Mariposa and welcome to DV!

Starting a Dream Journal will help you keep track of your dreams, remember them better, find some common themes and also tels your mind, that dreaming is important to you. If you like to remember your dreams better, keep a dream journal handy and write in it (at least some keywords) as soon as you wake up from a dream. People usualy wake up couple of times at night, right at the end of the sleep cycle (when your dream ends).

If you are looking for interpretations, you can post your question in General Dream Discussions, subforum Dream Interpretation. And in general, you usually get more answers, if you start your own thread by finding the right subforum, clicking on Forum tools on right hand side and on Post a new thread.

      Happy dreams!
