      Hi everyone

      Just started on the forum and really researching lucid dreams in detail, but apparently I've been lucid dreaming for years after reading some of the terminology, threads, and descriptions. I have a lot of questions though.

      First, is it common for someone to stumble into lucid dreaming? When I was young I'd have dreams I "wanted to see the end of" so I'd actually force myself into a WILD state, same with WBTB. Is there a way to use these techniques to actually go backwards to acheive DILD? (sorry if my terminology is off, new and all)

      Secondly, I think I have met my spirit guide unknowingly. She's a lady in black with a blank face that "sends" me a picture of her expression and although we talk in the dream I never remember what she says. One of the things I intuitively know about her though is she has always been watching me and protects me. I've actually seen her quite frequently since I was about 10 years old (that I remember). How would I go about making contact, and what can I learn from her?

      Third, I also have had a few instances of precognitive dreams, both mundane and really big (my wife's pregnancy, including the gender and personality of my son). How can I go about lucid dreaming and still be able to distinguish these messages from my own creation though?

      Precognitive dreams - even if you have one lucid dream a night, there is still plenty of regular dreams that can bring you messages, at least, that's what I think.
      Spirit guide - I believe you can ask her directly, whom she represents, why is she helping you and what can she teach you. You can thank her for watching over you all this years and if you are ready, ask her to teach you about yourself, lucid dreaming and I believe pretty much anything you would like to know. She could be a representation of your 'higher self' - your subconscience, or even some other entity. You can try saying a mantra as you falling asleep, to help you remember your converstions - 'I remember my dreams', 'I remember conversations with my DG', or anything to that effect.

      DILD is a lucid dream, when in a regular dream you suddenly realize you are dreaming. You can get DILDs by practicing technique called MILD - mantras and reality checks. I would recommend adding to this sporadic daytime awareness technique SAT. And writing in your dream journal will help you with remembering your dreams and also to recognize patters, reccuring dream characters places, etc. Happy dreams
