Nothing. It's completely normal to have dry spells and you still remember something. Just keep up writing your dream journal and you should be all fine. You do have a dream journal, right? It's quite hard to say anything as you provide so little information
Don't think about those damn kangaroos.

I have this problem all the time, as recently as last night in fact. Woke up this morning and couldn't remember a damned thing.
I think it's good advice that you write whatever you can remember, even if it's only an emotion, because then it keeps your brain in the habit of remembering, and then your recall will improve.
Where recall is concerned, rather like anything else, you have to consider various factors...
Like, stress. Changes in sleep patterns, ilness...all kinds of things can affect recall.
Medicines...some medications put you so far out, you remember nothing anyhow.

If you can track back and find a 'physical' cause as to why you might not be recalling, for example, not having a set night time routine, then that could be the way to go...if however, there's nothing like that, it's just a case of waiting it out.
The dreams always come back when they are ready.
Another way i like to look at it is this: If i don't recall things, my subconscious must be fairly happy, even if i don't feel that way, or it would have something to show me.
I set quite a lot of store by interpretation.
'all of the moments that already passed/
try to go back and make them last.'
