New here, and have a question! =)

Hi everyone! I'm new to not only here, but to LDreaming as well. It's something I've heard about sparingly throughout my life, and I didn't really start looking into it until about three days ago after reading an article about it in Readers Digest. Sounds really cool.

Anywhooooo... my question might need a small bit of detail about myself first, though.
I pretty much remember most of my dreams almost daily. (At the least, bits and pieces of one). Some of them are pretty vivid; both emotionally and mentally, like... the kind that stays with you all day long. Others, not so much.

So I've seem to run into a problem.. The past few days, I can't remember any of my dreams now. Is this likely to continue, or will it just kind of get back to normal after a while? Am I just psyching myself out now?
Anyone have any suggestions or links to any threads, that I might not have seen?

      Cheers!

I'm sure it will come back to you. I go through fazes where I have zero recall, and other times really vibrant and clear recall. In my experience I feel the nights I didn't get much recall are the nights I either did not get enough sleep or consumed something in the previous day that affected it.. ( caffeine affects my quality of sleep..As well as Sugar... Alcohol).

Try falling asleep with the intention of remembering this next dream. Say it to yourself in yor head... It may also help to excercise your mind's eye. if you imagine a place in your head from a previous dream. Hold on to the memory of that dream... As though you were propping the door open to your subconscious. do this and try to keep focused on this intention until you fall asleep.

      Hope it helps!

And welcome (I am new myself, you will love it here !)

In a nutshell I would suggest that you always have a direction in which you want your dreams to go. Ofcourse they will rarely go in this one direction, yet when you awaken you can oversee if the dreams you experienced that night were close or not to where you wanted them to go. This in turn will give you more feedback as to what you nightly dreams were about. Just one of the many techniques.

      Best of luck.

We all have dry spells. There are two good ways to increase recall:
      1. Mull over the dream in your head as you wake up, this can help to remember more
      2. Write down the dream in a DJ

Keep doing this every day, and you shouldnt have any recall problems

Welcome! I wouldnt worry about the recall. Sometimes people go through spells where they can't remember their dreams. It's pretty normal. I recommend going to the wiki and reading the dream recall tutorial. It should help you get back on track. Good luck!
