newbie here...can't wait to get started

My son (19) just started getting into this and has gotten me started. We both saw; 'Waking Life' recently which I thought was fascinating. Tried last night to recall my dreams without much luck. Just remembered bits and pieces. I'm very open to anything and patient as well. Hope to be talking to you guys a lot in the future.

      Welcome from another newbie!

98% of the teenage population does or has tried smoking pot. If you're one of the 2% who hasn't, copy & paste this into your signature line.

      Hi, welcome to the board.
if you want to improve your recall, try keeping a dream journal, and writing down everything you can remember!
      It really does work!

      better luck lately

Cool!...I've had 2 dreams in the last 3 days that I recalled a great deal of. How long should I be practicing recalling my dreams before I can start trying to control them...does it vary a great deal from person to person?

You can start trying to become lucid right away. Keep in mind that having a lucid dream is not the same as controlling your dream. The first step is to become aware that you are dreaming, then you can work on controlling the elements of the dream.

But keep working on your recall, too. The better your recall, the better the chances of having a LD.
