Thread: Another Newbie

Hello all!

Well, I first found the main page to these forums a few months ago when a friend of mine directed me to it as something generally cool he wanted to get into. When I read over the information on the site, I realised that I used to Lucid Dream a whole lot when I was a child as a way of escaping nightmares or even directing what I wanted to dream about. I can't quite recall exactly when I stopped being able to Lucid Dream, but that's the reason I'm here - to get it back.

Thus far I've only been capable of rembering dreams, but I have a feeling I'm getting better.

Outside the dream world, I'm a high school student in her final year who's interested in more things than are humanly posible to persue while still in school. I'm an extremely amateure artist, I have a passion for photography that I would love to make into a career and a pressing interest in a whole lot of unconnected and completely miscellaneous subjects. n_n''

you sound a lot like me...a hundred and one passing interests, none of which could be considered a real 'hobby' they are just things i like to do.
Good luck with the lucidity.
Hopefully you are keeping a dream journal?
that helps with recall.

Heh, yeah. I have a hardcopy beside my bed that I can put notes in, then type them up in full to put in a dream journal here. I'm fairly good at remembering in detail, all I really have to do is convince myself before I go to sleep that I'll remember them and when I wake up concentrate on remembering until they come back to me.

...I can remember, I just can't LD yet.....

ha ha...that's what happens to me, or i realise i'm dreaming, but can't do anything about it!
I need to simplify things i think, something along the lines of 'why can't you? it's only a dream, just do it!'

I've never had that happen, but the times I've been lucid have been in nightmares so my only concern was getting the hell out...

Yeah....just act like you're ordering a firby around or something with an equal lack of brain. If you want to change something, just scream an order at it until it does. If it works in nightmares it should work in normal dreams.

You seem to be getting along great in the chatroom and on the board, so hopefully you hang around for a while! ^_^

Don't worry about having trouble getting LDs, a lot of people are born as naturals but loose their ability as time goes on. I'm sure if you work at it a bit, you'll have LDs again pretty soon!
