      Where i come from...

      Hey fellow dreamers!

I've been lurking around lots of LD-forums and decided to make my stay here at DV. Although i'm new to these forums, it doesn't apply to LD itself. Well, here's my backgroundstory LD-wise, in short.

I experienced my first SP around the age of 6 and it kept rolling from there. After having lots of fun DILD's for years, i started to ponder on the fenomena of LD and especially how it worked. I often tried pinching myself during these odd dreams i had, only to see if i would wake up... i didn't. Couldn't make any significant progress in really understanding LD until one day.

I recall i was around 12 years old. One night I was up really late, a question struck my mind.

"What happens when I fall asleep?"

To answer that question, I realised there was only one thing to do. I had to fall asleep, keeping the question a secret from my mind. I couldn't think of the secret, because my mind would know. I kept the secret hidden and went to sleep. (I believe this to be the essence of WILD)

Fell asleep I did, not the way I was used to, it was wierd in a lot of ways. Then I woke up, (or at least i thougt i did) in the hallway, feeling different... then recognized the feeling of dreaming and awareness. Thought I could fly off from the balcony... I couldn't and it hurt.

After waking up I swore never to forget how i pulled it off, what I today know was my first successful WILD. But forget I did. Luckily I somehow managed to backtrack the memory many years later, when I got back into lucid dreaming.

Nowadays, I still practice WILD when i have a window in my busy life. I'm equally intrested in discussing it and helping others achieving it. I guess I'll be hanging around in these forums every now and then.

Thanks for reading, hope to see you around

      Greetings, Tucane

Welcome to DV, I hope you enjoy your stay!
That's a very interesting story, may I ask what was the secret you held from your own mind?

You're lucky you managed to figure out WILD on your own. It is always good to hear that it comes naturally to some people.

      Thanks

The secret i kept from my mind was the question i asked myself, the answer to that question was what i was doing (WILD). I made it complicated so I could hide my intent better. Besides, keeping a secret obviously served as a fine anchor.

      Thanks

The feeling of being a natural WILDer is nice. Although i wish i had understood what LD was a bit earlier. I believe i still have a few false memories (suspected DILD) from my childhood to sort out.
