      Helluuu

      Hello people, I'm zack.
I've had one lucid dream "wild" while I was practicing this for weeks at a time with a friend.
I've pondered this site many times looking at some of the wild guides on here, and finally decided to make an account and join this community.

I hope to learn to become more aware of myself, functions, and to be able to "wild" successfully 100% of the time.
My next goal will be to "Wild" quickly, and I do not want anything to do with setting up alarm clocks, or doing anything excessively that I do not enjoy.

I hope this will link onto , becoming active with my dream book, helping others do the same, and possibly finding enthusiasm to start illustrating my dreams.
OOOhh one last thing, I wish to become a student of my own mind and uncover my dream symbols and anything else that I can learn from these adventures.

      Welcome to DV!

Set your mind on mastering WILD and don't let anything get in your way. It's one of the hardest techniques to master and you have to understand that you will fail alot on the way there. You'll get better with each try though but sometimes even the most practiced of WILD'ers fail, but it's definitely one of the most reliable techniques out there if you know how to do it.

Unless you're intending to only WILD during naps then setting an alarm is a must. You can only WILD during a nap or a WBTB, so that's 4½, 6 or 7½ hours into sleep and to time that right you need to set an alarm. If you try to WILD during the night you'll just end up in SP and your journey ends there.

Be patient and keep your enthusiasm and you'll get far. If you've got any questions, feel free to ask in here or PM any of us DG's, we're here to help.

      Keep on dreaming!

If you're hellbent on not setting alarms to wake you up for your WILD-attempt, there is another slightly less accurate/reliable method. If you drink water before falling asleep, your blatter will do the job for you. Most likely, you will wake up during REM or close to REM. The tricky part of this is to choose the correct amount of water, so that you'll wake up during your REM-period of choice.

I'm using this method myself, since it doesn't disturb my wife and kids the way an alarm would.

      Good luck, Tucane

Hey modoro, welcome to DV. Matte is correct, WILD is very challenging to do. Good job on being so persistent with it though! I'm positive you'll be able to WILD more easily if you remain determined. Unfortunately, WILD can often be a lengthy process. However, a variation of WILD might be a good option for you if you don't want to use alarms and make it an easier process: One of the many DEILD tutorials at DV

There's also a WILD class that has some very informative lessons. Good luck, let us know if you have more questions.
