      Hi everybody!

I don't know why it has taken me so long to find this place, but there you go. I've been a lucid dreamer for many years, but lately I seem to be slipping. I hope to recover from that!

Since childhood, I remember taking pleasure in personally debunking dream-myths. I dream in colour, I can use all five of my senses, I can fall from heights and hit the ground, some of my best dreams began with me being killed (that one's not as dark as it sounds!).

Anyway, I look forward to learning much, and getting more from my sleep! Perhaps, in time, I'll be able to help others to do the same.

      Cheers

      Stanton, a.k.a. bindibadgi

      Hi Stanton, welcome to DV!

That's cool that you can use all five senses in the dream! Not a lot of people can, from what I've learned. My hearing and smell work quite good in dreams, so I'm psyched to talk to you about that, if you want. I haven't really found someone else to talk to about it x)

I'm sure you'll be lucid dreaming again in no time! Just being surrounded with LDing stuff here can really help put you back into the lucid mindset
Anyway, have fun browsing the forums! Good luck ;D

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

      Thanks Paige

It doesn't happen too often, but I can tell you: a good dream cake is pretty hard to beat!

I've decided to stop being lazy and start a dream journal, so I think that will help a lot. Even when they aren't lucid, my dreams are usually very vivid, and I rarely have too much trouble remembering them. Even so, if I don't commit them to writing, I forget them within a week or so, and I think that has contributed to the lessening of my lucid dreams.

At the moment, the only dreams which are lucid for me are ones which are turning towards nightmare. That's always a good signal for me, and it helps me to become aware. In fact, I think that's how I started lucid dreaming in the first place. I realised what a nightmare was like, and so I always knew I was dreaming. It's a great way to stop nightmares (well, most of them...), and I suspect it's a good way to start lucid dreaming.

YES! DREAM CAKE IS SO AWESOME THIS SENTENCE DESERVES TO BE IN CAPS! haha

And I know how that feels, I feel lazy about journalling a lot too. But I'm working on it now. It really does help with lucidity. Not only does it boost your recall, but it also lets you know common dream elements, and it's pretty fun to read as well.

I agree, I often had lucid nightmares before I even knew what lucid dreaming was. It can work differently for everybody, but as long as you overcome it, it's all good! Lucid dreaming has helped me with some of my fears as well. Took quite some time to do it, but it has really changed me for the better. I'm sure you've had similar experiences?

This skill is too cool to pass up.

      NEVER GONNA STOP LUCID DREAMING!

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Thanks Mancon. I've got lazy, so this is a good chance to change that!

Electronics? They never work properly for me in dreams. I guess my microsecond-computer is out of phase one ten-thousandth of a second.

Oh, and paigeyemps, I'd love to visit you in Ba Sing Se some time! Maybe you could teach me some water bending. Not so sure about the puppeteering though...
