      Hey :)

      Hey,

I'm Wickex, a 16-year old dude from The Netherlands. I got into lucid dreaming a bit a couple of years back, but never really pushed it through. A month of 2 ago, I started getting interested in lucid dreaming again and picked it up once more. I never really got very far once again, mainly because writing down my dreams for half an hour every day really started to annoy me (I could remember lots of dreams and lots of details after just a day, a couple of pages full every day), and because doing constant dream checks often looks pretty neurotic when you're around other people (not a proper excuse I know :p). So I pretty much gave it up again, and also because I didn't really see that much progress (although I knew that it was normal and to be expected, and that if I would go on with it it would improve). The times I got lucid it felt like I was dreaming that I got lucid in a dream, it was that vague. I couldn't remember to do anything I wanted to do and the goals I set for myself in waking life, and the few times I did remember a little, it wouldn't work properly. But the last couple of days, I've been experiencing quite a lot of lucid dreams again, without trying.

The first night I started experiencing lucid dreams again (half a week ago) was the night after a wedding party. I had a couple of beers and went to sleep at 5 AM. I was experiencing lucid dreams all night (not even sure if I had any non-lucid dreams). After a little bit I would wake up again, do a reality check, and figure out I was still dreaming (this repeated itself for quite some time). By the way, the triggering of the reality checks were because I for some reason felt like I was dreaming, there were no specific triggers, nor do I do reality checks often in waking life. I was still experiencing difficulty controlling my dreams properly though. Things wouldn't happen the way I wanted it to happen, and I was unable to change or correct it.

Yesterday night, I experienced a lucid dream again. I woke up and for some reason decided to do a reality check (again, I never do this in waking life anymore) with my usual technique, which is pinching my nose shut and trying to breathe through it. It worked, but I felt like I didn't shut my nose well, so I adjusted my hand position, and sure enough: I could still breathe, so I concluded I was lucid. I was still lying in my bed, and decided to check out my house and see how different it was in my dream. So I got out of bed, and decided to go to my brother's room. When I opened the door, he was standing next to his bed (it was night, and all the lights were off). He was just a black figure, and didn't really look human. Then, in a fluid, ghostly motion, he glided in bed under his covers. I thought it looked pretty cool. Next, I went to my parent's room, and the exact same thing happened (although with 2 "people"). I decided to go downstairs. When I was at the middle of the staircase, I remembered I wanted to ask myself some questions. I don't remember exactly what the question was, but it was something like "Show me something funny". A sort-of sign took up my vision (the house around me was no longer visible) and it was zooming in on some text, but no matter how hard I tried I couldn't read it properly, and the parts I could read were just random, odd text. I then remembered I experienced almost the same thing in my previous lucid dream (which I'm now starting to doubt if it was a separate lucid dream between the wedding party and this one, or the one after the wedding party). So that failed. I went back to my dream and continued walking down the stairs. I didn't pay any attention to detail unfortunately, I wasn't lucid enough I guess. I went in the living room. I then decided I wanted to go to some other place, so I tried summoning a door behind me to some place (don't remember where). I turned around to see if it was there (which it was not) and saw a couple of people running from the kitchen to another room. I don't remember anything past this point. I might've waken up, or it might've just lost my lucidity.

Aaanyway, what I'm trying to say is that I've been experiencing quite some lucid dreams the last couple of days, without something specifically triggering it, which is getting me back into lucid dreaming. It's fun, but I really want to improve my control and lucidity in my lucid dreams (which, I do have some techniques for (and of course will also come with practice), but which I can never seem to remember use them in lucid dreams. I'm now reading the forum's guide on it :p).

So, I'm hoping to have a fun time here! Thanks for reading my whole topic if you did, it looks like quite a wall of text in preview.
