      Afternoon Wild

Do you guys think that it is possible to wild during a nap?

I didn't get much sleep last night so I just tried it (to no avail) I set me alarm clock for an hour later, slept for a bit, woke up then tried to wild. I was just wondering if it's possible, maybe more experienced people can do it?

Oh, yes! It is absolutely possible. If it wasn't, I would be crabbing at everyone b/c I didn't have enough sleep!

Many people strongly suggest doing a WILD during nap time because it is easier to control staying conscious while your body falls asleep. The hardest thing with doing WILD is finding the correct amount of consciousness versus falling asleep. You need to be calm and relaxed enough mentally to allow mind to slip into dream world YET stay awake through it all. Napping is right at that point where your mind is at the borderline of consciousness and subconsciousness. Hence it is easier to slip into the dream world while staying alert and focused.

If you're going to wild in the afternoon (as a nap) is it necessary to sleep for a bit first, wake up, then try? or can you just do it when you're falling asleep?

You can do it while you're falling asleep.

Is it more difficult to do it without 5-6 hours of sleep preparation?

The problem I seem to be having with wilding is falling asleep/unconscious before I get to the dream state, tonight I might try drinking some diet coke after waking up or the technique where you visualize yourself doing something (such as riding a bike or driving a car.)

      What would you guys suggest?

Its not only possible, your chance of succeeding increases alOt. Since if you've already slept from the night before, chances are you'll go straight into REM while taking a nap!! Might be abit hard if your not at all tired though.

sh2dak is correct with the idea of going straight into REM. That is also why there is such good success rate with napping. I am personally trying right now the sleep deprivation method. A few on this board have tried it and for them it works so I figured to try it. I personally have a problem getting into dream world even after all the 'signs' of WILD and this could be because I am not that tired or relaxed and too focused on what is happening. Apparently, sleep deprivation helps your body to want to pass out right away leading you quickly and easily into dream world.

      Nice avator dew dust!!

Yeh ive also tried the sleep deprivation alotta times, i used to have insomnia badly, and it wasnt just my body clock, i just found it really hard to get to sleep, so i just stayed awake for a day or two sometimes. Tried to WILD while i was there.

      there was this one time...
I'd gotten up early, went through the day as normal. then went to bed late thinking i might be able to sleep easier since its late, it took a while but finally at about 4am i got to sleep, but then woke up about an hour and a half later, couldnt get back to sleep. So i got up, later that day at about 7pm i was getting kind of tired but i was round a friends so i couldnt sleep, lol. so i just waited. i went home about 9:00pm and went straight upstairs for a nap, i blacked out and about 2 minutes later i came back, fully awake i mean COMPLETELY AWAKE, and had the most strongest vibrations ever!!! i hadnt even thought of lucid dreaming, i just wanted to sleep. the vibrations were getting stronger and stronger and within 20 seconds everything was crazy, seriously loud buzzing in my ears, crazy vibrations feels like i was getting an electric shock without pain!i couldnt help but realise how awake i was, i thought if i got into a dream in that state id be able to do ANYTHING because i was so awake and aware. anyway i was too excited and wanted to tell everyone how far id got, so i sat up and the vibes stopped, lol...
