      Am I lucid dreaming??

Every week I have about 1 or 2 days I have a dream where I am just laying there and can't move. I can wiggle my finger or something like that. I can hear things in the background and can think perfectly, but I'm asleep. I didn't think much about it till I learned about lucid dreaming then a day later read about someone else having the same experience and someone said that it was lucid dreaming.
The thing is I've had these dreams for years and I can't possibly understand how these "heavy dreams" are the same lucid dreams I read about where you can change everything around you. So can anyone tell me, am I lucid dreaming, or am I having a light sleep or something like that?

you might want to check out the dreamviews main page before runninng to the forums. you would be surprised how helpful it is!

thats called sleep paralysis. its natural and normal. its not lucid dreaming unless u are aware its a dream while you are in it.

      hi, welcome to the board.
Firstly, i don't think what you are talking about is a lucid dream. it sounds to me like you are in some state of Sleep Paralysis...which can sometimes occur on coming out of a dream, lucid or non lucid.
In order for a dream to be classed as lucid, you have to know you are dreaming.
It definitely doesn't sound like a lucid dream to me, definitely sleep paralysis...it's possible you came out of a lucid dream, and then didn't remember it.
Hope this helps you out some...hope you can stick around.
For more information, you could try the attaining lucidity and lucid experience forums.
Also there's a tutorial on sleep paralysis that i wrote, being as i can induce it from a waking state.

      Talk to you soon!
