I'm one of the newbies here, too .

I've been frequenting this site for quite some time, but only now decided to join. I've been interested in the topic of LD for over 3 years, but never really tried too much to have one, until about a month ago. I started keeping a DJ and in just 8-9 days, my dream recall has increased from 1 to 4-5 dreams per night. No LDs though. I'm performing Reality checks all the time and trying a lot of methods like WILD (I know it is hard, but it feels like something that could work for me... even though I always fall asleep, only once I got to the stage of Hypnagogic... you know and then fell asleep anyway.), MILD and DILD. I'm also currently reading LaBerge's book.

Still, I'm getting no results other than increasing my dream recall to a point where it's really hard to keep track of all the dreams I had in one night and they also kinda blur together, so it is difficult to tell which part belongs to which dream and therefore I have a really hard time writing it down.

But there was this one time - I woke up in the morning, probably like 8 am, and I suddenly saw two... well.. scenes at once. It was like watching TV. There was this dream scene in the middle of my view, where I stood in a street (It was a real one where my grandma lives, although a bit different), I was able to jump over buldings and knew it was a dream. But on the "borders" of my sight, I was seeing my real surroundings. The bed I was lying in, my GF sleeping,... and the strangest thing was - I also felt awake. I felt that when moving my arms in the dream (while jumping, grabbing on a ledge of a building and so on), My physical arms were moving the same way too. I was really worried that I might hit my GF while doing so . I woke up after a short while. The dream wasn't really "vivid", or intense. More like... transparent.

So what was that? Was it a LD, or just some kind of "intense daydream" ? Anyway, if you guys could give me any advice on the "dream" or just tell me what I'm doing wrong in general (No LDs since the one above), I would be really grateful.
