Hi,
I first learned about Lucid Dreaming in the 1990s as a very young adult at that time. What first interested me in Lucid Dreaming was that at the time I enjoyed flying dreams, and I wanted to experience more of them. I read the books by Stephen LaBerge, fell in love with the subject, and read a lot of other authors - whose names I forget, since it has been years.
I still remember the adrenaline rush after my first lucid dream. I did not have many LDs, but had a few memorable ones, including one in which I unsuccessfully tried to convince the dream character of my father that he was just a figment of my imagination , another one during which I soared higher and higher and flew into outer space, and a successful use of lucid dreaming to combat a nightmare of being chased by vicious dogs (staring them down once I became lucid, and turning them into cardboard dogs).
The lucid dreaming techniques that have worked for me years ago included keeping a dream journal, and doing regular reality checks throughout the day. I have now started the reality checks again, but for the dream journal I will first need to work on my dream recall again. LOL
It has been many years since I had lucid dreams. I am now married, working in a demanding career, and have two young sons (one in elementary school and one in preschool). Until recently I was a member of an online forum with a different subject matter, and it was my outlet to help keep me sane, but I have recently decided to leave that forum for reasons that are hard to explain, and thus need a new outlet. It occurred to me that I would love to get back into lucid dreaming, so here I am.
I am hoping that this place will provide me an outlet for my creativity, a place to learn and just have fun, a place to share knowledge and opinions with others, and a way to help me relax and enjoy life more with less stress. Even though I am out of practice, but I had done quite a bit of reading about this subject years ago, so I am not a newbie. Alas I do not recall the number of LDs I had back then.
