      Talking Hello!!

Hello everyone! I am a beginning LD'er from the sunshine state of florida! I also want to delve into the realm of meditation. The closest thing to an LD I have experienced was just the other morning. I had just woken up and then I dosed off in a light slumber, I believe that I went into a state of sleep paralasysis. Then it felt as though my consciousness sat up and out of my body (Is that what an astral projection is?). It was one of the greatest experiences I have ever had. The method I wish to use to achieve an LD is DEILD.

I hope to achieve a lucid dream soon and wish good luck to all others!

      Sweet dreams!

      Welcome to DV!

I don't think that was Astral Projection. In fact, Astral Projection might just be a lucid dream, there's no scientific evidence that proves that it actually exists.

I suggest you try most methods out, if DEILD isn't working properly for you then move on. There's no harm in going for DILD/MILD during the day when you're awake and then setting an alarm or training yourself to lie still when you wake up and try to DEILD. The more motivated and more time you spend thinking about getting lucid and doing amazing things the higher your chances are.

It's all about awareness in the end.

Well it was weird because I couldn't see anything. It was like I was still asleep but I could feel myself smiling and sitting up!

That sounds a bit like REM Atonia. Next time "get out of bed" and see how strange your house looks.
