hello there. i've always been fascinated by dreams and, more broadly, altered states of consciousness; not only those attained through meditation or the use of psychoactive drugs, but also organic deliria, psychoses, near-death states, coma... of course, dreaming is the most easily accessible of these states and thus the one i have most personal experience with.

i am a skeptic by nature and my interest in these matters tends toward the academic; however, i find that dreams can bear great personal significance and offer insight into the darker recesses of one's psyche. for this reason i've decided to start keeping a dream journal... i've attempted this on and off for the past 5 years but always ended up neglecting it. i hope that having an audience for my dreams will motivate me to keep a more thorough journal -- and also that some of my audience might find my dreams interesting or significant in some way.

i taught myself to have LDs through the reality check method when i was very young, and i continue to have them a few times a month without actively trying to. however, i've never been able to maintain lucidity for a significant amount of time or exert control over my dreams. i would like to gain the ability to do so and i hope that the resources on this site will help me achieve this goal.

aside from dreams i have a general interest in medicine and psychology, language, and literature.

glad to meet you all : ^ )
