Great thinking. This is exactly the conclusion that I reached when I was struggling with lucid dreaming on my own for a long time. Even though I eventually fumbled around enough to learn some of the basics, nothing helped me like joining a community, discussing LD with others, reading their experiences, and just generally finding that support I didn't have when I pursued things on my own.

A huge help for me was OpheliaBlue's Intro Class! It helped so much to get personal tips and guidance from a seasoned, helpful lucid dreamer like Ophelia, her apprentices, and the other students.
