Welcome uglymags!
Good that you found us ^^ just a bit of effort and time and soon enough you'll be able to taste lucidity and use those false awakenings to start your adventures.
You can refer to this excellent guide written by Puffin, the best tool you can use to introduce yourself to the concept and basics of lucid dreaming. You'll notice that is also presents links to other tutorials, because there's many ways of inducing lucidity. It's mostly a state of mind which you not only achieve in your dreams, but also during your waking life, as several exercises are to be practiced during the day so you can form habits that eventually show up in your dreams.
The basic tools are the dream journal and starting to get the hang of reality checks: questioning your surroundings or even yourself ("why am I here?" "is this a dream?" "that situation is strange, am I dreaming?"), followed by a simple action to determine if you're really awake or not As you will read in the guide, the basics are the pillars of lucidity, and are crucial throughout your entire lucid dreaming journey. You can also sign up for our DV academy, where you take classes in lucid dreaming. Here's the link for OpheliaBlue's intro class, just sign up and you're good to go!
If you have any questions, just pm the guys with green names (Dream guides) or post right here. As you can see by NyxCC and JoannaB's posts, we're a very friendly and helpful community so expect to find advice everywhere around the forum Good luck!
