      Hey everyone

Hey guys, Just joined this site today because I feel like I am finally making progress with lucid dreaming, and wanted to post about it. I have been trying to lucid dream for about a year now, with not much success. I dont remember why I started, but I was very interested in all the articles about it. At first I tried to make my own methods, but none of them worked, so I looked up other ways people get lucid dreams. I spent quite a few months trying different ways, but none ever seemed to work. I wake up usually once or twice during the night, so I have filled up a notebook with dreams to help with my dream recall. Every few months or so I would have a Lucid dream, but they were never very long, and usually I just slipped back into the dream. I even installed an app on my phone that senses REM cycles and plays audio cues to help you know you are dreaming, but even that didnt work. Lately, I think I have found a way to get myself to lucid dream about 70% of the time. I get plenty of sleep (usually sleeping in till 9 and going to bed at 10) so my REM cycles start at like 4 in the morning. I set an alarm to wake me up, and then as I fall back asleep I repeat to myself "lucid dream". I am not sure why this works, but it does. I always fall asleep, and sometime in my dream I realize it is a dream. I usually get varied results, such as sometimes I wake up right when I realize it, sometimes I know I am dreaming, but not enough to change anything, and even occasionally when im falling back asleep I hit Sleep paralysis. I am super excited that I finnaly found a way to Lucid dream, after working at it for about a year with almost no results. I have had 5 since last sunday already, and am currently working on making them last once I realize I am dreaming with methods such as rubbing my hands together and spinning.

      Welcome to DV!

It's great you found a method that works for you! Maybe you should try all of the methods and see which one works best for you to get you the best results. That's what I have done and found I'm rubbish at WILD, but I'm actually sort of good at MILD and DILD so I just focus on those methods now. If you have any questions feel free to reply to this comment or PM me!

Seems like you are doing MILD. Whatever is it, if it works, great I'm sure that your confidence is also helping loads, and it seems like you totally deserve it after all that time pursuing lucidity.

You can also get some inspiration around the forum, and who knows maybe you'll feel like sharing your experiences ^^ See you around!

Trying out MILD? This is how you become skilled at it.
