      Unhappy i need help.

well hi. i joined this cause i'm really freaked out about how i've been dreaming.
so erm i'm a fourteen year old and recently i've been having dreams. i read about lucid dreams and that lucid dreams = you know you are dreaming, am i wrong?
well, in my dreams i have no idea that i'm dreaming but my dreams are not really normal. i dream about weird things, i can remember parts of it when i wake up and it feels very very real, so real that when i wake up, i don't know if it really happened. i'm confused about things many times and i'm just...yeah.

this is freaking me out a lot and i would appreciate your help if you tell me whether or not this is lucid dreaming or whatever and if i can stop this.

      yep, thanks a lot

      Welcome to DreamViews, Sahlian!

You are right, lucid dreaming is when you know it is a dream while you are in it. Dreams can feel very real because the brain simulates how we sense things in real life. They can be very outlandish in theme and content, because there is no limit to the human imagination while we are sleeping. Weird dreams are very very normal, in fact, if you take a look at the Dream Journals on the forum you'll find that your dreams are fairly normal in the dreaming community. There is no need to worry about it at all, and if you are interested, you can learn how to lucid dream and take control of your dreams. Check out http://www.dreamviews.com/introducti...-dreaming.html for basic info on it, and if you have any questions after that, feel free to ask!

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Weird very vivid dreams are completely normal. They don't happen to everyone, but there is nothing wrong with having them. One of my weird extremely vivid dreams that I recall: In my dream I was about to be squished by a landing helicopter, and it looked and felt do real. I woke up, and automatically immediately got out of bed to get out of the way of the helicopter.

Personally I find such extremely vivid dreams to be really cool and I enjoy them, but then again I am not regularly plagued by them like you, for me they are a rare treat.

I would think that lucid dreaming may be a solution for you because it will help you stay aware of the differences between dreams and reality, so you become less confused. Good luck!

No need to be freaked out about anything. Dreaming is a natural process and having strange dreams is a completely normal thing. I have had extremely strange and surreal dreams and I actually have them quite often. I like it when I am in an LD and my surroundings change/morph, makes for an interesting experience, that's for sure! Good luck with your future endeavors and almost forgot, welcome to DV!
