      Hello DV!

Just wanted to say hello to everybody here. I have been around on this site for quite some time, and have experience with lucid dreaming. I have recently been in a little bit of a dry spell, hopefully we can change that! One thing I noticed is that I will often lose motivation to LD, what are some ways that other experienced members have kept their motivation? Lucid dreaming is something I have been interested for quite some time, and I am planning on restarting from scratch, what I mean by that is getting a new dream journal, keep an online one here, and reset my internal "LD count".

I usually try for DILDs, but I am open to other ways if anybody has a nice recommendation. I will usually try to go for a lucid after I wake up if I still have some time to sleep. That usually results in the most vivid of my dreams, but I have been unable to get lucid, no matter how strange the scenarios are. Anyways, pleasure to meet you and I hope to see you around!

Hi MrSlug, welcome to DreamViews! I recommend giving this thread a go: http://www.dreamviews.com/general-lu...motivated.html . As for a technique recommendation, would you care to share your usual daily routine? Are you usually busy or how much sleep do you get, etc? That way we'll know which techniques seem suitable for your lifestyle. Not that it is what you should immediately follow, the choice is always up to you In any case, you mentioned going for a lucid once you wake up, and having vivid dreams then. Have you checked out DEILD? It can be very convenient if you don't have much time to spare staying up in the night, and it doesn't require much pre-sleep preparation (if any). DEILD Tutorial - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views

      Cheers!

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Thanks for the reply paigeyemps! And to answer your questions, here it goes.

My daily routine changes up all the time. I sometimes have weeks off work (which then I can basically do whatever I want), but other times I am swamped and don't have much time to do anything. Luckily, LD'ing occurs during sleep! I try to get at least 8 hours of sleep, but I mean sometimes I will stay up all night go to sleep at 4 AM and wake up at around noon. I'd say my average sleep schedule is 12 AM to 8 AM. Yes, I always like to attempt WBTB's as often as I can, had success only a few times, and it was pretty awesome to say the least. Thanks for the links, I'm looking through them right now! I'm also trying to focus on ADA because that is what helped me achieve my first LD (a few years ago). Dreams are a very exciting phenomena. Looking forward to learning more about them and how they work, especially through experience.

I have heard about dream-helping herbs and supplements, do you have any info or could direct me to a good spot for info on them? I wouldn't mind trying it out just to see if they have any effect on the vividness of my dreams, or even help with getting lucid.

      Once again, thanks!

Check out Lucid Aids It has a supplement/herb repository with info on the different stuff that can affect dreaming. That section of the forums also contains threads about other mechanical lucid aids you might be interested in. As for the technique, I guess it would depends on what you really want, seeing as you have a pretty free schedule most of the time. Generally I would recommend keeping a fairly decent and consistent sleep schedule to make the most of your attempts. I'd say try them all! The only way to know which technique fits you is to try them and see, right? Hehe :3 But yea, wbtb is really helpful so make sure to utilize that whenever you can.

Good luck! If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask or send a PM *__*

Thanks for that lucid aid link! And I had success last night, my first lucid dream in months. Didn't have much control as I got trapped into a room with no exits but it was still awesome and interesting anyways.
