      Hello all!

      Hi there everyone!
I've been trying to have lucid dreams for a long time, without success. I thought joining a community of lucid dreamers would help me achieve my goal of having regular (at least weekly! ) lucid dreams, hence my discovery of this site.
I'm looking forward to getting more familiar with the people and resources of the site!

Welcome to DV! Yes, being a part of this community will help you lucid dream. Getting to weekly lucid dreams may take a while though, so I hope you are willing to be patient and persistent if needed? How is your dream recall? Dream recall is an important first step.

Kraom and Joanna- thanks! I realize it will probably take a while to reach the point of having fairly regular lucid dreams. Hopefully being part of this community will help keep me motivated and accountable for the long haul
My dream recall isn't as good as it needs to be, so improving that'll be my first step. What's your history with lucid dreaming, Joanna?
      Thanks again!

My history with lucid dreaming? I first found out about it from my father when I was a freshman in college about 20 years ago. I got the Stephen LaBerge book "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming", and I believe I got to be pretty proficient at it, though I do not remember enough about what happened 20 years ago, and just remember a few of those lucid dreams. I no longer remember why I left this great hobby the first time around, I was young and it was a long time ago.

I remember I briefly returned to the hobby at least once in the meantime during a time which was very difficult for me, but I do not remember much of that.

Now, I came back to the hobby in February 2013, and have had five lucid dreams since then, not as many as I had hoped for, but I found that I enjoy and get a lot out of the process of getting there, and thus I do not mind as much that it is taking me longer. I also have found that I enjoy my non-lucid dreams and dream interpretation.

While the first time around 20 years ago my main LD goal was to have more flying dreams, this time around lucid dream practice is more a part of my overall self improvement and spiritual development efforts.
You may say I'm a dreamer.
